Cliffton Soverign Area is an island under the juristication and full control of the government of Maanenland although is not a part of the nation. To avoid confusion the Cliffton county of Maanenland is reffered to as Clifton Duchy , the city is refered to as Cliffton and the soverign area is refered to as Cliffton Nation.

History

The island was founded by the Duke of Cliffton in ancient times and was run (as it is today) by the council of the City of Cliffton.

Geography

Cliffton Nation is situated on a small , relativly flat island . It's small size means that it is low on resources especially freshwater.

Politics

The island has it's own parish government which has all the powers of statehood but must pay taxes to Cliffton City Council who in reutrn provide policing , schooling and fire services. Technically at any point the parish council can vote to become independant but this is unlikely.

Economy

The economy consists entirely of providing services as a stop-over point for passing ships and for military personel on the mainland.
