Coocoobad is the national capital of Coocoostan as well as the Capital of the Capital Oblast. It is located in the eastern portion of Coocoostan proper and is a Megalopolis, beginning to suffer from urban sprawl, pollution(smog,smoke and acid raid) as well as a crime wave. The Interior Secretariat requires an application to be submitted to move to Coocoobad unless you have an acceptable relative already living there, or an offer of employment. Still, the city continues to grow at the rate of nearly a thousand new citizens a day and the government is considering implementing a population cap at 30 million.
Geography
The city is extremely cluttered, with a network of streets that is far from uniform. Streets can instantly shrink from being four lane boulevards to one lane alleys and then back again, due to the resistance of local residents to move and make way for road projects. The city also had a shantytown on the outskirts of the city, until it was dismantled in 2004 and the residents moved. Still, most returned and the city is overrun by squatters and homeless(some 10,000).
Culture
Coocoobad is a seat of domestic culture, and is dotted with Movie Theatres, Restaurants, Tea Houses and various ethnic shops. Coocoobad also has many popular nightspots, especially in the west end. The notorious Flamin' Wheels Biker Club, the Red Lion Pub, Elektronika(A small dance club out of an old house) and the Golden Dragon Restauarant are amongst the most popular. It is also home to the Brodcasting Systems of Coocoostan(BSC) series of television networks and Coocostan Television Network. Many Movies and Television series set in Coocoobad are shot in the city, although on private lots rather than in the city itself.
Sport
Coocoostan is a nation that is very fond of sport and Coocoobad leads the way. The city is home to three teams of the Coocoostan Hockey League. The Coocoobad Red Menace play at Schultz Credit Union place, in the City Centre. Intel Coocoobad play at Coocoobad Arena, which is in the East End and the South Coocoobad Rams are based at South Coocoobad Arena, the largest in the country. The city also has two junior hockey sides, HC Partisan and the Coocoobad Eagles.
The city is also home to three teams of the Coocostan Soccer Federation's Premier division, Dynamo FC and Torpedo Coocoobad are both based at National Stadium in the City Centre, while Spades FC is based atS pades Park, in the west end. There are also four teams in Division Two.
Further to that, the city has various American football teams, the Coocoobad Hawks at National Stadium in the outdoor league and the Coocoobad Chihuahuas(Schultz Credit Union Place),Northern Bats(Coocoobad Arena) and South Coocoobad Zombies(South Coocoobad Arena).
Coocoobad also has two teams that have recently moved into the Coocoobad Baseball Congress Premier League. The Coocoobad Sentaors ath the Coocoobad Baseball Grounds and the South Coocoobad Tigers. There are also two AAA teams, VVIA Coocoobad and RusStar Coocoobad.
Coocoobad is home to three Amateur Sport clubs, which send athletes to the National Championships, which serve as olympic qualifying.
Coocoobad is a hotbed for boxing, with the National Boxing Gym and South Coocoobad Arena both hosting matches on an irregular basis.
The Final Stage of the Wajax Rally takes place on a temporary circuit on the outskirts of the city.
Universities
Coocoobad is home to two universities of the prestigious Tradition Conference: Coocoobad University and Northern University. As well the city has Coocoobad Tech, which also enjoys a top-notch reputation and the National Islamic University, which consistently ranked the best religious university nationwide.
Transportation
Coocoobad is the hub of Coocoostan's national transportation network.
Road
The city is the last major settlement on the Trans-Coocoostan Highway as well as the Western Terminus of the Transborder Highway which travels into Kelssek.
Rail
The city is the Eastern railhead of the Coocoostan Electric Railway and on November 30,2006, Kelssek Prime-Minister Alan Kerk announced that the city would be joined to Neorvins by a high-speed rail line.
Air
Coocoobad International is one of 10 International airports in the country and serves the most traffic, with regular flights to Panjuhr,Starlight City,Anadahl,Ulgava,Los Santos, Las Venturas, Tatu and Aubrey domestically and numerous international destinations. During his November 2006 visit, Alan Kerk and Tammy Hagans came to an initial agreement on open skies, which stands to make Coocoobad a hub for at least one Kelssekian airline. The Airport is currently served by 10 airlines.
