Father of the current Emperor

When Emperor David III was born in 1935, his mother - Princess Mary - and his father - Dr. Michael Viesnieks - were living simply as a family of academics far from the court politics of Citadel Excalbia. David and his sister, Michele, who was born in 1938 grew up more as the children of a university lecturer and researcher than as a Prince and Princess of the Imperial House.

David served in the Imperial Navy from 1955 to 1959 after graduating with a degree in history from the University of Landing. He married while in the navy in 1955. His first son, Prince Paul, was born 1956 and his second son, David, was born just before his discharge in 1958. After completing his military service, David became a lecturer in history at the University of Sigulda.

David and his wife, the former Lady Nichole Pace, were lving a quiet life until David's mother ascended the throne as Empress Mary II in 1969.

David and his family relocated to Citadel Excalbia and the Prince tried to continue his teaching at Imperial College at the University of Excalbia.

After his mother's death in 1981, he ascended the throne as Emperor David III. His reign was peaceful and largely unremarkable, expect for the frightening decline of the Imperial Navy.

The tragic death of the Emperor's eldest son, Prince Paul in 1997, pushed his younger son, who became David IV, to the top of the succession. The Emperor himself passed away unexpectedly just a year after his older son's death.
