David Mai-shirong was born in 1255 to Isaiah and Elizabeth Mai shi-rong in Junaklion, Syskeyia. A third-generation Christian, David's family had arrived in China in 1225, as a reuslt of the confusion surrounding the failed Chinese invasion of Syskeyia of that same year.
