Death Key Media is a Miervatia City, Mikitivity record label specializing in goth and industrial music. The label was founded in 1992 by Sandra Gottesman, who also serves as a production engineer for many of the albums released on the label. Over the years, the label has become synonymous with gothic rock, death metal, and terror EBM. Numerous international acts have been signed and distributed via the label.
The controversial tagline for the label, Warnung: Gehirnbeschädigung, which roughly translates into Warning: Braindamage in English, has earned the label a reputation for testing the status quo (which in turn has helped sales). The tagline appears next to the label name on most releases.
Every August the label hosts the Totenreich Treffen in Miervatia City. In addition to providing Death Key artists a chance to perform, the festival also invites other goth and industrial artists. The festival has been instrumental in establishing Death Key as one of the leading international promoters of the genres.
