The Various Empires of Dhatsun is a massive, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.743 billion are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Healthcare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 62%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Gambling and Arms Manufacturing.
Government officials frequently cut taxes as a distraction from antics with their secretaries, citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes, the government has cut its subsidies for all special interest groups, and the nation's gigantic air force is both respected and feared. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Dhatsun's national animal is the Komodo Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
