Domnonia, Republic of
The Republic of Domnonia is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its burgeoning Owl population. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.
The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 36%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Trout Farming industry, followed by Door-to-door Insurance Sales and Book Publishing.
Voting is compulsory. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare.
