Location: The Kingdom of Edenburg is a country in the Mediterranean Region that occupies the Iberian Peninsula. On the north the country is bordered by the Bay of Biscay, on the northeast by Tyraelus. Edenburg is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea on the east, and the Strait of Gibraltar on the south, and finally by the Atlantic Ocean on the west.

Edenburg is a geographically diverse country, being a peninsula it is surrounded on three sides by water, and isolating the country more is the Pyrenees mountains, which is between the Tyraelusian and Edenburgian border. The physical separation from the rest of the region has had its effect on Edenburg, it is much more continent like than many may realize.

Edenburg can be divided into many land and climate regions.

Mediterranean Coastal Plain: This region goes along the entire eastern and southern coast of Edenburg. It is a narrow plain where soil is rich and thanks to irrigation, many crops typical of the Mediterranean can be grown here. Including, dates, grapes, and oranges, which Edenburg is known for. This region also has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers, and mild winters, getting wetter the further north you go. This is the most heavilly populated region of the country, and is also where the national capital of Helena, a chief port, sits.

Schonesland: This region takes up the central part of the country. Schonesland means HIGH LAND. It is a vast and high lying plateau, cut by high mountains. (Edenburg is one of the most Mountainous Countries in the Region.) The soil is typically poor here, and forest is not common except for on high hills and mountains. short shrubs can grow, and Sheep Farming is possible. Large River valleys that cut the region is typically where some small scale farming can take place. This region is dry and receives little rain, the soil is dry and almost clay like, but the region is popular for its many Storybook style castles, and other historic sites. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are bitterly cold, and snow can be found on the mountains.

Eros Basin: This region is the region in northeastern Edenburg enclosed by the Elisabethan Mountains seperating it from the Schonesland, and the Pyrenees, separating it from Tyraelus. In this region the soil is bit more richer, and farming is very possible. This land is forested, and it is in sharp contrast to the lands in the south in that rain is generous. and Temperatures are more temperate.

Northern Mountain Plain: This region is in the Northern part of Edenburg bordered the Bay of Biscay. It has rocky shores, and its very green in this region. Rain is generous, and temperatures are of the Maritime Climate, with cool rainy winters, and mild drier summers. This land is home to many fisheries, and many tourist visit the rocky beaches on this coast.

Basin of Gaudelupe: This region is in southwestern Edenburg, inland from the Mediterranean region but south of the Schonesland. This region is drier, but grapes and other vine fruits, as well as wheat can be grown in this region, it is the most sparesly populated of the regions, and those who do live here do so in the river valleys. This region is very close to the African Continent, and has very hot dry summers, and milder winters, this region is almost desert like.

Western Plains: This region is the western parts of Edenburg. It is a much broader plain than the Mediterranean Plain, and is cut by more hills than mountains. it is cooler in this region, and rain is good, limited farming is possible, except along rivers, where very rich soil is, and western ports and fisheries are very successful.

Government

Edenburg is a Monarchy with a parliamentary government. The government has 3 branches, the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judicial. The Executive Branch is made up of The Monarch, the Cabinet of Ministers, and several executive agencies. The Monarch is the head of state, he appoints ambassadors, signs treaties with foreign countries, meets foreign ministers, and serves as the cheif host to visiting diplomats and heads of state. The Monarch is also head of governemnt and though this gives him an especially powerful position, no power is unchecked in Edenburg. The King may only do many things on the advice of parliament and on the suggestions of his ministers. The Cabinent must keep the monarch informed of all the happenings of the state, and they meet with him seperately on designated days unless of he calls a joint meeting. As a royal perrogative, the make has the right to advise to warn and to consultation, meaning that at these required meetings, the sovereign may make suggestions, but in the case that a policy is not agreed upon by the King, there is nothing he can really do about it, but if trouble should rise it would not fall onto the king but to the minister. The King may issue royal decrees, which are rules, that is just as good as law, and need not be approved by parliament or the ministers. The Monarch signs all bills passed by parliament into law, he has the right to refuse, thus sending it back to parliament with his suggestions, his vote may not be overridden unless 2/3s of the sitting audience agree to override the veto. The Monarch opens parliament each year, and when a crisis arrises he can dissolve of government on the advice of parliament.

The legislative branch is made up of parliament which has two houses, the House of Commons, and the House of Lords, this body makes all the laws of Edenburg, and in the event of a minister being on trial, he would be tried in the house of lords. The House of commons is a powerful house and every member is elected unlike many of the members of the house of lords.
