The Dominion of Edoniakistanbabweagua (Dioyoquetzios El Borike'n de Edoniakistanbabweagua Pronounced Edo-nee-yak-istan-bob-way-aguah) is a large, pleasant nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 162 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The large, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 25%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Gambling.

The government is reigning in public spending, military spending recently hit a new high, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, and euthanasia is legal. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Elections have been outlawed, organ donation is compulsory, and thieves are flogged in public for their crimes. Edoniakistanbabweagua's national animal is the majestic emu, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the pant.

Policies

Edoniakistanbabweagua is a militaristic dictatorship that relies on a heavy amount of military to keep the peace within its borders as well as quelling problems outside of the borders. However, Edoniakistanbabweagua deals with other countries differently than most military dictatorships. Instead of threats of war, the country actually suggests peaceful solutions before considering militaristic actions. Also, Edoniakistanbabweagua's nuclear policy seems to be anti nuclear proliferation. Within the country, civil rights is being worked on to better the personal lives of the people, but political freedoms are non-existant. Nonetheless, the people remain relatively unoppressed from the government.

Military and Police

Although relatively peaceful, Edoniakistanbabweagua is known for its emphasis on military weaponary as a tool to protect the country. Therefore, the country spends a great amount of time and effort in the development of effective weapons, including a small nuclear weapons program. Edoniakistanbabweagua uses nuclear detterence as a final method of keeping enemy countries at bay. The minimum age of solidiers allowed in boot camp is 18, where they spend 6 months training in the most extreme conditions. The Edoniakistanbabweaguan police are as strong as the military, keeping crime low with somethimes questionable methods. Nonetheless, there are few instances where the police went overboard.

Edoniakistanbabweagua Tactical Aerospace Fleet

A major, if not the most important, player in the military, the ETAF is the main militaristic prgram that ranges from recon intellegence to massive airstrikes. The ETAF has state-of-the-art military jet fighters and stealth bombers, all created by CAMINC. Altough CAMINC gives weapons to all of the departments, the main importance is on the ETAF. The greatest invention of the CAMINC/ETAF Combine is the ETAF Airship Carrier, an aircraft carrier capable of flying as well as floating. Aside from carrying aircraft, it also carries ETMC military units. The first one, Serial Number A.S.C. (Airship Carrier) 0000-000-01 ETAF Typhoon, was tested and used in the invasion of Durikistan.

Edoniakistanbabweagua Dynasty Naval Armada

The second most important branch of the military is the EDNA. EDNA is normally used for setting beachheads and laying siege to island nations. In times of political tensions and war, they are also used to constrict supply lines and pirate the supplies for the Edoniakistanbabweaguan people. EDNA has its own form of aircraft to combat other naval units and to lay recon over the ocean.

Edoniakistanbabweagua Terran Military Corps

The third military branch, ETMC was created at first to invade island countries after a month of siege. It became obvious that the ETMC would have to get better to attack land-locked counties, so the ETMC is currently under a massive reform with the help of CAMINC. The current ETMC deals with land invasions, artillery siege, and ruling over martial law. The ETMC's weapon claim to fame is the Multienviornmental Attack Vehicle, a special walking battle tank that has amphibious capabilites and multiple weapons for varying ranges, from missles to tank shells and a pair of rotating vulcan cannons to attack infantry. The M.A.V. 0000-205-09 ETMC Tyr is the lastest model. Rumor has it that it may have nuclear capability, but CAMINC and the ETMC aren't commenting.

Edoniakistanbabweagua Department of Space Defense

The smallest of the group, EDSD is pure defense with defensive satellites to stop oncoming nuclear attacks. This branch is connected directly to CAMINC in helping with innovations in modern day warfare. Rumor has is that CAMINC and the EDSD have created and launched a Tactical Sub-Orbital Partical Accelerator Battery codenamed Hyperion as a final blow to the enemy, but reports are unconfirmed.

Police

Edoniakistanbabweagua has three sects of police: City police, State Police, and National Police. Each one has control over their prospective territory and is subject under the rule of the higher authority. The police are very tough and follow the laws of Edoniakistanbabweagua very strictly. But this isnt to say that they oppress the people. People who do not break the law will not worry about the police.

S.C.O.P.E.

SCOPE, or Special Covert Operations of Psychic Espionage is a group dedicated to keeping tabs over enemy countries and allies alike. They are also responsible for tracking and detaining terrorists and the most wanted criminals of the country. Mostly known for using satelittes and spies to do this, they will occasionally use their psychics program, although many Edoniakistanbabweaguans believe this to be a rumor.

All weapons are provided by CAMINC (Conglomerate of Arms Manufacturing, Inc.)

Landscape and Weather

Edoniakistanbabweagua is home to very beautiful beaches and thick rainforests. The middle and southern parts are known for the mountainous areas and massive rolling hills. Towards the east are small hills and mostly plains. On the westmost section are the remains of old meteor craters, the largest being the famous Lake Bocagrande. The middlemost section of the island is also know for massive volcanic activity. Some scientist speculate that the entire island itself is a supervolcano. Luckily, the main volcano, Mt. Fuego de Montaña has not erupted since 1798 and is considered to be dormant.

Edoniakistanbabweagua is also known for its beautiful warm weather, but with warm weather comes days of thunderstorms throughout the island. Hurricanes also pummel the island and the coast is frequently flooded because of hurricanes and monsoons. There has been no known instance of any snow or ice anyway on the island.

The largest of the estados and the home of the nation's capital and largest city, La Ciudad de Azure (Blue City). This area is named after the beautiful Azure Roses that grow on the foothills of the mountains and the volcano. La Ciudad de Azure is known for its beautiful beaches, rainforests, and clear waters as well as sealife and nudist beaches. Its main export is military weaponary, but it also uses tourism as a main source of revenue. Aside from La Ciudad de Azure, the state is home to a smaller fisherman town called El Pueblo de Pesque. Many citizens of Ciudad de Azure feel that El Pueblo de Pesque should become part of the city, but the samll town remains alone.

La Ciudad de Azure Centre Plaza

The plaza is home to La Venida de Jurakán, the celebration of the coming hurricane season. Each year, there is a huge week long party of food, games, and fighting. The celebration is begun by a speech from the ruler. The plaza will usually be covered with tents and booths. The plaza is also used simply as a relaxation spot for tourists and citizens alike.

The Palacio de Datijao

The Palacio de Datijao is at the very centre of the beautiful city. It is the home of the Datijao (ruler) of Edoniakistanbabweagua. This is also where the Council de Cacique (Chiefs of the estados) meet with the Datijao to discuss laws and plans for the country.

Costa Negra

Capital: La Ciudad de Costa Negra

(Black Coast) This coast is famous for the Black Seaweed, a species of seaweed that grows off the coast of Costa Negra, hence where the name originated from. Costa Negra is home to two main towns and has strict laws concerning its beaches.

Isla de Mano

Capital: Pueblo de Mano

(Hand Island) Named for the hilly island off the northeast coast of Edoniakistanbabweagua which resembles a hand, this area has only one town on the coast and a small group of settlements on the island itself. The least populated state and aside for fishing, contibutes little to the nation's economy.

Santo Pequeño

Capital: Santo Picardo

Santo Pequeño is named after the famous Santo Picardo, otherwise known as the Santo Pequeño (Small Saint), who was the first explorer to find and help colonize Edoniakistanbabweagua. The area has a very clifflike coastline, so Santo Pequeño usually gets supplies from the neighbooring states.

Bocagrande

Capital: La Ciudad de Dios

Bocagrande (Big Mouth) is called so because of the enormous crater lake (Lake Bocagrande). This state, as well as Tierrahoyo, shows signs of a massive meteor shower where the largest obviously hit Bocagrande. Tourism of the beaches and Lake Bocagrande is the main revenue of Bocagrande. Bocagrande is also known for its strong Catholic beliefs.

Tierrahoyo

Capital: Cometa

Tierrahoyo (Holed Earth) is well named for the swarm of craters littering the land. Many tourist come here to awe at how many meteors hit the land. Scientists estimate that over 25 meteors hit that single area, not including the massive crater and five other craters in Bocagrande. Many scientists also come and visit the craters to gather samples of the different metals and study them. Tierrahoyo is home to four cities. Cometa, Pueblo de Hoyo, Santo Ricardo, and Las Tierras.

Suelo Rocoso

Capital: Las Mesas

Suelo Rocoso (Rocky Ground) is aptly named after the numerous rolling hills of the region. Suelo Rocoso's main revenue is from mining coal, diamonds, and uranium ore from the hills and the foothills of the Suelo Rocoso Range. There are two towns and one city (Las Mesas) in this states.

Izquierda de Norte

Capital: Tiburón

Izquierda de Norte (Northleft) is the second westmost state of Edoniakistanbabweagua. It was at one time part of Izquierda de Sur, but political differences caused the seperation of the two states. Izquierda de Norte is known for its pro-war arguments and tax money going into military development. The capital of Izquierda de Norte is Tiburón, named after their state fish the Mako Shark for its ferocity. Izquierda de Norte is known for having schools of these sharks near the coast, which attracts environmentalists but chases away tourists.

Izquierda de Sur

Capital: Gran Ballena

Due to political differences, Izquierda de Sur (South Left) became its own state. The state is known for having fog most of the year and is a damp forestlike area. It is a bit cooler that the other states. Izquierda de Sur is also home to the Great Whale, a species of whale almost as large as the blue whale. The capital is named after this majestic creature because of its peaceful nature, like the politics of the state itself. Many whale watchers come to try and protect the whales from complete extinction due to illegal whaling.

País Ventoso

Capital: Ciudad Ventoso

País Ventoso (Windy Country) is named for the winds that roll down the Suelo Rocoso Range. The state is also the center of a meteorlogical program that helps track storms off the coast of the country. País Ventoso is usually hit by thunderstorms and the main center of hurricanes, which makes it the ideal place to study the weather.

Puerto Malo

Capital: San Acero

Puerto Malo (Bad Port) is aptly named for its dangerous shorelines and violent eddies. Few ships come near this port so much of the supplies are shipped by train from other states. Because of the eddies and turbulent waves, Puerto Malo is home to alot of surfers and frequently has surfing competitions. Its main revenue is the mining of gold and the mining of iron to forge steel for CAMINC and other industries. It is home to two cities, San Acero and San Oro.

Playa Inundada

Capital: La Ciudad dela Lluvia

Playa Inundada (Raining Beach) is named after the amount of rainfall that hits this area more than any other state during monsoon season. Playa Inundada is home to three towns, La Ciudad dela Lluvia, Monzón, and Ráfaga.

Los Pueblos de la Costa

Capital: Undecided

Los Pueblos de la Costa (Towns of the Coast) is a relatively new estado, still without a capital. Its main revenue is turism and is still under formation. It currently has three towns.

Industries

Edoniakistanbabweagua basks in the revenues of its tourism. With beautiful beaches, resorts, casinos, and forests, there is no question how Edoniakistanbabweagua keeps tourism up.

Tourism is a great business in Edoniakistanbabweagua, but it gets its main revenue in the arms business. This is a business Edoniakistanbabweagua excels at and has a monopoly over, with the main company being CAMINC, or Conglomerate of Arms Manufacturing, Inc. CAMINC is known for creating countless innovations in the military industry, improving on already created military technologies as well as inventing new weapons to defend the country. CAMINC belives that peace is something many try to strive for, but a country should always be prepared for the worse. Many critics of CAMINC state that they are really a corporation of warmongers who are only increasing the need for war.

Government

Each estado has its own state government, which convene monthly to the capital of Edoniakistanbabweagua to discuss with the ruler about each states needs. The ruler, currently El Conquistador Eduardo Ortiz Miro Montanez Mercedes del San Acero, Jr. takes these into account and passes laws over the entire country.

As a dictatorship, the country's leader has suspended all elections and political parties of the country, claiming that they are tools that help corrupt bureaocracy to form.

Surnames

In the country of Edoniakistanbabweagua, names are very long. The child of each parnent takes on the last names of his mother and father as well as their mothers. Afterwords, the city they were born in becomes their suffix. It goes in the order:

First, Middle, Father, Father's Mother - Mother, Mother's Mother, City, Suffix (Jr., Sr.)

Fernando Antonio Lopez Montanez-Cruz Montoya de Tiburón, Jr.

Out of brevity, First name and father's last names are used and for officials, the first name and the city name are used.

Culture

Edoniakistanbabweagua is home to a very diverse culture since much of it is a mixture of ancient Mexican and Puerto Rican as well as modern Spanish customs. Even the religions range from ancient Aztec and Taino beliefs, known as the Old Ways, to modern day Catholism. Many of the cities are named after either Aztec gods and goddesses or Spanish names of people.

The language is a beautiful blend of Spanish, Taíno, and Nahuatl. Many of the populace do speak English so as to interact with other countries, but for the most part the people speak the blended language, or Dioyoquetzios.

Like many countries, Edoniakistanbabweagua has numerous amount of holidays, most of which religous.

La Venida de Jurakán

La Venida de Jurakán celebration with the parade float

Every year before the hurricane season (Early June), the worshippers of Catholism and The Old Ways celebrate La Venida de Jurakán, or the coming of the Taino hurricane god, Jurakán. In this week long ceremony, the people celebrate the coming of Jurakán by setting empty pots outside of their homes. This is to make the god happy and bring the rains. Every night, the villages and cities of Edoniakistanbabweagua have huge parties in celebration of Jurakán, for it was Jurakán that saved them in the Edoniakistanbabweaguan War of Liberation. On the last day of La Venida de Jurakán, the eldest sons and daughters of each family come together for one big formal party, similar to Quinceañera.

Guatiao

The naming ceremony of the Edoniakistanbabweaguan culture. After the child has been born and has lived at least one month, the parents gather at either a priest or a bohiti (depending on religion) and baptize the child, giving unto him a name of their choosing. The family then has an entire day of celebration with a huge feast and a big Guanajo (turkey) as the meal.
