Hippograd is widely regarded as one of the world's leading centres of education. Home to several leading universities and some of the world's best known schools, Hippograd has developed a reputation for excellence. It has the largest student population (per capita) of any city in the Meritocracy. It is an international centre of research. The fields of law, medicine and the arts are the most prominent, with the University of Hippograd widely recognised as the world's leading law school.

Most of Hippograd City's Universities are owned by either the Hippograd Academic Institute (HAI), the Hippograd Universities Trust (HUT) or the University of Hippograd State (UHGS). The former two institutions are charitable trusts which operate the universities under their control at vastly decreased costs to students. While the wealthiest students are charges tuition fees, the majority pay nothing. Entry is based entirely on academic merit.

The Hippograd Academic Institute was recently purchased by the Royal Society of Hippograd (RSH) for §17 billion. The Chairman of the RSH, Lord Blackwater, has revealed the RSH's plan to consolidate all of its academic assets under the HAI.

The University of Hippograd is one of the worlds leading universities, in one of the worlds liveliest and most beautiful cities.
