The United Kingdom of the Egypt and Sudan, known simply as the UKES, or less accurately as Egypt and Sudan, or E&S, (in Arabic: مملكة مصر و السودان المتحدة , Romanized: Mamlaket Mişr wa As-Sudan Al-Mothedah) is a state located in the Mediterranean Region. The UKES is a greatly decentralized confederation composed of three confederated regions, the motherland Kingdom of Egypt and Sudan, the Grand Duchy of Dakar, and the Duchy of Cape Verde. The UKES was formed in November 17, 2004 by The Act of Union of the United Kingdom of Egypt and Sudan. Prior to this date the "Kingdom of Egypt and Sudan" referred to Egypt and Sudan and her colonial possessions in West Africa.
