Elephantum is a modern nation, residing in Earth II. It controls the modern day nations of Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, as well as parts of Israel, Palestine, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and India. The island of Koror in Palau is a separate nation, that seceded from Elephantum. The government system, dealt with below, is a bizzare mix between an oligarchy with absolute power and a direct democracy. Elephantum is a major player in world politics, and has been since the attempted invasion by Soviet (Hogsweatian) troops when it was a small nation.

History
Early History
The 33 islands of Bahrain, in the Persian Gulf, are the homeland of the Elephantis. Humans have lived on the islands since at least 3000 BC. The first major society to develop was Dilmun, a trading empire that consisted of trading posts throughout the Persian Gulf. It dominated, and eventually monopolized, trade between the societies in Mesopotamia and the Indus River. However, as those civilizations collapsed, so did Dilmun.
For quite some time, there are very few references to any civilizations in the area.
