Parthia has long enjoyed a nearly unrivalled reputation as one of the world's most ardently anti-Communist nations. Since the passage of the controversial (controversial outside of Parthia, that is) National Security Act of 1955, Parthian politics have consistently leaned toward the far-right, both in terms of domestic policies and its dealings with other nations. Shah Khosru III is an outspoken anti-Communist, who has worked diligently to halt the spread of Communism, by dispatching SAVAK agents around the globe to destroy hundreds of real and perceived leftists, financing pro-Western rebel factions around the globe, and exerting his country's considerable influence on the global stage to economically and politically undermine unfriendly countries.

Among the rebel groups Parthia has funded in the past are UNITA, RENAMO, the Contras, far-right Salvadoran death squads, the Hmong in Laos, and (allegedly) the Restore Sarzonia Task Force.

Parthia has attracted controversy in the past for allying with some of the most brutal regimes in history, such as the Mississippian Federation and Kahta; in both cases, Parthia has stressed that, while it personally opposed the internal policies of those countries, that it was a tactical necessity to support them in the name of fighting communism (even though the anticommunism of the Mississippian Federation was dubious).

Parthia is a long-time member of C A D, and as such, counts among its closest allies the nations of Doomingsland, Generic empire, Borman Empire, etc. Its closest ally by far, though, is Roach-Busters. Its leader, Generalissimo J.L. happens to be a best friend of the Shah. There is even an unsubstantiated rumor that Parthian intelligence helped orchestrate and finance the coup that brought J.L. to power and toppled RB's former Marxist government.

Another close ally is Zaire, which Parthia saved during the Great Central African War. Mobutu Sese Seko and the Shah are known to be close friends.

Parthia is also a member of the World Anti-Communist League.
