Freedom Fighters is a retired defender region and was a member of the Alliance Defense Network. Freedom Fighters is formerly known as The Pacific Army and The Free Pacific Army respectively. See Freedom Fighters History for clarification.

Mission Statement

In the growing and volatile world of NationStates, few things are certain.

Of those that are, we players know that nations and regions are created and deleted daily. Some are stable, others not. We know many that are ruled liberally and many that are run conservatively.

But among all these nations and regions, one certainty is clear - aggressors will always search for power and dominance in and over NationStates.

And so, with that truth in mind, the Freedom Fighters declares as its mission:

The active defense of player created regions.

The active defense of feeder regions.

The return of true democracy to the Pacific.

Freedom Fighters History

Army Structure

The Freedom Fighter structure is designed around the perceived functional requirements of a region defence army in NationStates. The aims of the organisation are:

• To uphold the Freedom Fighters Mission Statement and ideals.
• To grow and evolve into a bigger and more powerful force.
• To interact and improve relations with other regions, groups and nations.
• To gather intelligence on invader groups.
• To collect information on regions for the benefit of knowledge and to identify vulnerable regions that may need protection.

Freedom Fighters is divided into three subdivisions. These are Operations, Intelligence and Administration. The Operations division is concerned with the main mission of the army, ie. defending regions, and also the operation of the army in general. The Intelligence division is concerned with gathering information on regions, nations and groups, especially region-crasher groups, in the NationStates world. The Administration division is concerned with relations between Freedom Fighters and other nations, regions and groups in the NationStates world including the forming of alliances and also recruitment of new members. Freedom Fighters is further organised into a chain of command. It is important to note however that although Freedom Fighters is organised into a chain of command, we are an army that upholds democratic ideals, therefore all soldiers have the ability to contribute their input on all matters concerning the army as a whole. Chain of command is required for three reasons:

1. Finalising decisions affecting the army as a whole, based on the opinion of the majority.
2. Implementing changes to the army structure, policy and practice resulting from these decisions.
3. Determining authority during region defence missions.

It is also important to note that while Freedom Fighters have a structure in place with defined positions, we are all first and foremost region defenders. This means that from the top level of Supreme Commander to the bottom level of Soldier we all respond to invasion alerts and mobilise our UN nations to defend regions when they are under attack from region crashers.
