Geography
Terrain Gataway is a small nation yet has a very diverse landscape with high mountains dominating the eastern part of the country plains and scattered patches of forests are found in the central portion of the country and gently rolling coastal hills lie on the west bordering the sea. Gataway's new frontier lands in the north consist of vast barren wastes following deforestation by the growing mining industry as well as long streches of steep mountains by contrast the frontier lands of the south consist of rich fertile grass lands criss-crossed by winding rivers and shallow valleys as well as pristine white sand beaches all along the south western coast
Climate The northern territory experiances dust storms regularly while in the more mountainous regions freezing temperatures and frequent snow fall the central and southern territory enjoy a very temperate climate with no severe temperature changes from summer season to winter and recieve regular rainfall the coastal areas experiance a stable sub tropic temperature year round
Natural Resources Gataways natural resources include ( Colony resources included) Uranium,Coal,Timber,Rubber,Copper,Tuna,Cod,Crab,Gold,Oil
Land Use Within Gataway's original boundries much of the land is devoted to agricultural development but is slowly changing as cities expand into the rural country side While in the northern territories the land has been stripped bare to make way for growing mining operations, oil drilling, as well as the construction of manufacturing plants. The southern territories are also largely devoted to agricultural development while there is limited oil drilling off the south western coast
Neighboring Nations Gataway shares its natural sovereign borders with its two recently conquered colony states of Asgradia and Silvasnia this pushes Gataway's frontier borders outwards towards currently uncharted lands and is bordered by the Asgatian sea in the west
History
Independance Gataway was not always a sovereign nation and was for decades, a disputed territory between the Kingdom of Silvasnia and the Republic of Asgradia. However the land has always been the home of the Gatawans, who were a minority group in Asgradia and Silvasnia. After years of fighting Silvasnia and Asgradia agreed to divide the lands of Gataway, following this the Gatawans banded together and began to protest for Independance this led to several years of bloody conflict as both Asgradia and Silvasnia attempted to stamp out the Gatawan "rebellion." After years of fighting a guerilla war combined with assassinations of both Asgradian and Silvasnian officals the Gatawans were able to secure independance which marks the start of the new Gatawan clander at 1 A.I.(After Independance) as declared by the new Gatawan republic This newfound independance led to an uneasy peace with its former rulers.
Seizing Asgradia
In the year 154 A.I. Asgradia began to encroach upon Gataway's lands once more. Thus another war broke out and following the battle of Kilnad in the Olstrum mountains where the poorly equipped Asgradian army was trapped and decimated by the incliment weather then destroyed by the Gatawan people's army. Following this defeat Gatawan forces were able to easily over run the ill-equipped ill-trained Asgradian home guard and during the massive counter offensive Gatway's forces were able to seize power over Asgradia and Imprison oe execute the Asgradian goverment leaders. Eventually Gataway forces succeeded in establishing a new governmet with Asgradian members recieving a say in the Gatawan government
Fall of Silvasnia
Following this another several years passed and while things were going extremely well in Gataway both economically and socially the opposite was true in Gataway's uneasy neighbor Silvasnia where the citizens suffered under the rule of a tyrant dictator. Under this rule many silvasnians began fleeing into Gataway to escape oppression or find work and better their lives. It was also during this time that a number of Silvasnian ranking officals entered secret negotiations with Gataway, these meetings eventually led to a Gatawan supported coup in 195 A.I. and following this coupe under the pretext of wanting to maintain peace Gatawan forces effectively invaded Silvasnia and established a puppet goverment with Silvasnian officals to calm the Silvasnian people and lessen the chances of rebellion against the new pro-Gatawan government.
Civil War and the fall of a republic In 359 A.I. the Gatawan republic fell due to years of corruption and lies from the senators, supreme general Yakkov Melech Nadov led an open rebellion and was leader of the Gatawan Socalist Army who for ten years fought a bloody civil war against the pro-republic forces eventually defeating them at the battle of Hiljat and declaring himself supreme emperor of Gataway. He then preceded to do away with the colony puppet governments and solidified Gatawan control over Asgradia and Silvasnia. After several years of rule however Nadov allowed the formation of a supreme council of elected represenatives from both colonies of Asgradia and Silvasnia as well as council members from Gataway, however the council's power is very limited and is little more than a rouse to maintain order in the colony states by allowing their people to believe they have a say in the government and to provide advice to the Emperor on state matters
