General Gassel

Konstantin Viktor Arcturus Freiherr Ganz von Gassel, more commonly known as Konstantin Ganz Gassel or General Gassel, is a former Kasnyian military commander and currently the leader of the Topaz Faction, a breakaway section of the Kasnyian armed forces with Fascist-Militarist beliefs. It is believed that he seeks the overthrow of the ruling monarchial government of Kasnyia. He is currently at large and considered a fugitive world-wide. The Kasnyian Government has issued an Order of Execution on Gassel, the highest punishment in Kasnyia.

Early Life

Konstantin Ganz Gassel was born in the town of Schaus am Roau in southern Kasnyia to a high-level government official Viktor Gassel and Amelia Ganz, a housewife. He was the first of four children, and was educated in the nearby town of Dagesburg. At the age of 13, through his father's connections, he was sent to the prestigious Academy of Military Disciplines in Guranburg. By the age of 18, he was already a Cadet-Major and at the top of his graduating class.

According to his records, he excelled at field commanding duties, and was especially cunning as a tactitian. His abilities had garnered the attention of the High Command who immediately had him sent to the most exclusive military training faciliy in all Kasnyia at the time, the Officer Training and Proving Grounds in Hermannstadt. Here he was trained by the greatest military minds in Kasnyia at that time. While his records of what he did over there are sealed in the Kasnyian Military archives, it can be said that he graduated from there at age 24, with the rank of major, and placed in a veteran KASOC unit based in southern Kasnyia with an elite regular Army divison.
