Gubask (Ozansek: Guba Sek = the government of logic) is the nation of logically thinking people.
History
Historians distinguish two periods: The period of zeg (ignorance), and the period of sek (logic). The legendary period of zeg was a time of anarchy and chaos. Little facts are known from that time.
Calendar
The people in Gubask have a straightforward, but not really simple calendar system:
- 1 day part = 1/100 of a day (14 minutes 24 seconds)
- 1 day = 10 day parts
- 1 month = 29 days and 53 day parts (a synodic month)
- 1 year = 12 months, 10 days and 89 day parts (a siderial year)
That was the straightforward bit. Now it's getting complicated:
27 November 2006 is the 8th day of the 2nd waxing moon in the 2527th winter semester of the period of zeg (8/2+/2527-)
In other words: There have been 2526 summer and 2526 winter semesters since the beginning of the period of zeg. Since the beginning of the current winter semester (23 September), there have been 2 waning moons and 1 full waxing moon. And since the beginning of the current moon phase, there have been 7 full days.
But that's not all. The same day can belong to two different moon phases. The same moon phase can belong to two different semesters.
A day starts when it is noon (sic!) in Badiguba, the national capital. Other cities might have other time zones, but that doesn't matter.
