Hanmegura Pansureng is the current Lord Provost of the Chamber of Regents of the Great Star Empire of Allech-Atreus. Born on Artax III, he studied at Imperial University and recieved a doctorate in political science. Working in the plantary government of Artax III, he was chosen as one of the two Regents to represent the planet and successfully elected to the position. Although he had no noble title, a requirement for Regents, he was created an Allodial Marquis, or a Marquis of a free-standing fief.

Pansureng served several terms before rising to the top of the Chamber. He worked closely with his predecessor as Lord Provost, Karl Ban Mervereth, and was instrumental in defusing a Directorate plan to give Directors a vote in the Chamber. When Ban Mervereth retired from the Chamber, Pansureng was nominated and took his position.

Pansureng works closely with the Directorate, but is not considered a lackey. He has butted heads with the current Lord High Chancellor, Ruhomash Zagszer dan Kvalier, many times, and wields enormous power within the Chamber, often defeating Directorate-sponsored proposals.

Although Pansureng is an adherent to the Taam In Phar, Themothan Creed, he is a liberal-moderate member of the Chamber and supports democratic institutions. Although he belives in the Empire and the divinity of the Emperor, he has fought to give more power to the people and remove it from the Directorate.
