Harold I. of Skatval (Norse: Haraldr I.), of the ancestry of Gulaagre, was the first king of Skatval. He was a typhical warior, and founded Skatval trough war. He was neither Christian or married, but got two sons from his many realationships:
- King Olav I. of Skatval
- Inge the Wise
After he was crowned as king by a Norse priest, Harold made a period of peace, progress and harmony in the little country. Nobody attacked Skatval during Harolds period as king.
He wasn't Christian, but wanted his sons to be so, and Olav was later the first Christian king of Skatval. Inge the Wise was later archbishop, and the ancestry of Hallgrimssón is a result of Inge's fruitful marriage with the noble Thèra from Forbord.
Harold didn't speak so many languages as his intelligent sons, but spoke Old Norse, Trøndersk and Norwegian. This was the major languages in Skatval at that time. The history about Harold was recorded by Inge the Wise, and was kept by members of the Hallgrimssón-familiy untill 2002, when a compleate work called "Skatval's History" was published.
