History of Hipolis

The History of Hipolis traditionally encompassed not only the history of the Hipolitan Archipelago but also the history of their ancestors in ancient Greece.
Hipolis was first settled some time around 1100 BC. By 500 BC the bulk of the people from whom the modern Hipolitans are descended had settled in Hipolis. Since that time, some Hipolitan emigrants have settled in other nations, either assimilating or living as cultural minorities. Likewise, some immigrants have assimilated into Hipolitan culture. However, the great bulk of Hipolitans continue to live in and hold citizenship in the modern state of Hipolis.
