The Birth of Neo-Macedonia

Having a growing need to have good relations with other regions, Julius Augustus NeoCaesar of TheNeoRomanEmpire in Europe order several explorers to seek out other places of the world were people were suffering and could use the aid of NeoRome. One group of explorers found a collective community of villages who were in desperate need of NeoRome's help in a small part of South Africa. NeoRome struck a deal with the community that gave them help from NeoRome if they would assimilate themselves in the NeoRoman culture. The people agreed and Neo-Macedonia is born. Trusting no one else, NeoCaesar appointed his brother, Alexander Augustus, as Prince and ruler. NeoCaesar Julius Augustus decided that Neo-Macedonia would act as a separate nation, but would be an ally and asset of NeoRome. Prince Alexander would rule using all NeoRoman laws and rights.

Neo-Macedonia/South African War

The war began when Neo-Macedonia and other nations voiced their disaproval of The Antebellum South (South Africa) for enslaving their black populace. In return the South African President DeBruin, suspended democracy and ruled the nation by decree. He declared war on Patrua and Xeres and Catalonia for supposedly hosting terrorists and closed South African ship access to the Mediterranean. DeBruin also declared war on NeoMacedonia, who he accused of harboring terrorists, violating international border protocols, and occupying land that he claims rightfully belongs to South Africa. Since Neo-Macedonia was the closest nation to South Africa, they focused their first attack on Neo-Macedonia which as the war progressed soon turn into their only stage of the war aside from South Africa itself. Neo-Macedonia was still a new nation, and because of this it had no national military. Helpless it looked to it's ally NeoRome for help. Sadly because NeoRome was a member and founder of the European organization known as the EPC (European Peace Council)it could not wage war with South Africa. So Neo-Macedonia had to send out an SOS to any nations who would help. Luckily many nations came to the aid of Neo-Macedonia and after a long and bloody war the South African regime of Debruin was defeated. However, it cost many Neo-Macedonia lives and Neo-Macedonia was left to rebuild.

The Van Eyck/Rothschilde Affair

The Van Eyck/Rothschilde affair was the cause of the deep mistrust between Le Congo Leopold and Neo-Macedonia. Two NeoMacedonian businessmen, Erich van Eyck and Jan Rothschilde, were travelling within Le Congo Leopold when they mysteriously disappeared. Some believe that they were killed by the Leopoldan government because they had seen too much. NeoMacedonia demanded an explanation, and Hercule l'Poissonet, a spokesman for Kurtz, claimed that the two men had been killed by Azande tribesmen deep in the Congolese jungle. Neo-Macedonia refused to accept this explanation, and secretly sent a team to investigate the true situation in Le Congo Leopold. What they found disgusted them. The following is an excerpt from the official report:

"This report is a compilation of first hand and eyewitness accounts of the society which is Le Congo Leopold . First off, the main form of punishment is being whipped, and punishments of over 100 lashes are quite common for trifling offenses. The natives are practically enslaved. When the government needs work to be done, they will take the Force Publique (the army) in to villages and hold all the women hostage. If the men do not want their wives killed, they are forced to work. The entire nation runs on the quota system. If people do not make their quotas, they are severely punished. When the people try to rebel, or question the government, the Force Publique goes in an massacres them. To prove the number of people that they have killed, they are forced to cut the hands off of their victims and present them to their superior officer. Their is even a quota for the number of hands a soldier in the Force Publique must acquire. This encourages them to cut the hands off of people who are not dead. There is even a person in each unit whose job it is to smoke the hands so that they do not spoil in the heat of the jungle. Many of the trading stations are run by sadistic, evil, twisted, vile people who will not let anything stand in the way of making a profit. We even saw one official who has even surrounded his garden with the severed heads of natives stuck on poles. People are forced to work in chain gangs. The government deals secretly with the slave trade. People are overworked. The natives are not allowed to use money, only thin brass rods. The soldiers conscripted into the Force Publique quickly become murderous and rapacious. We even found that they use the severed hands as offerings at the shrines to Saint-King Leopold as part of the rather perverted little religion of the whites in the area."

Hercule l'Poissonet promptly denied this report, and claimed that it was merely a heinous lie by the Neo-Macedonians. For a time, the international community was extremely interested in this issue, but then attention turned to other matters, and Le Congo Leopold was allowed to continue on as before.

Coverting to the Catholic Faith

It was only after the Neo-Macedonian/South African war, that Prince Alexander decided to introduce Catholicism to his people. He did so because his soon the be wife chloe Agnew, a devout irish catholic girl who had come to help rebuild Neo-Macedonia met the prince and introduced him to the faith. In return Prince Alexander introduced the faith to the masses. Since the natives of Neo-Macedonia has prayed to their god's during the war and had recieved no answer, the people began to disbelieve in their gods and find comfort in the Catholic relgion. 80% of the people willingly converted once Prince Alexander made it the official religion of Neo-Macedonia and Pope Cristiano VII of Catholic Europe crowned Alexander King of Neo-Macedonia.

The Neo-Macedonia Civil War

The Neo-Macedonian civil war started when King Alexander died of cancer. His wife, Queen Chloe feared that his death would spring a civil war so she concealed his death only to be found out by the grand general of the army, General Marcus Hadrianus. He threaten to expose the Queen for what she had down unless she did as he said and though she did not want to, she agreed. It was only after secretly gaining the support of the gaurds stationed to watch her that Queen Chloe began stagging an uprising. She escaped Neo-Macedonia and went to Catholic Europe where she met with the Pope. He instructed her to return to her nation and free her people from General Hadrianus rule and her sins would be forgiven. So with the help of her allies of New Medea and Syawla she began the civil war. The civil war was between the Catholics who had now be outlawed from practicing their faith because General Hadrianus discovered that the Queen used the church the spread her information and the Loyalists who sided with the General. Ultimately the Catholics prevailed and defeated the forces of the General. However, the General escaped Neo-Macedonia with the help of Egyria and was given a fair trial by the government of Paradise. He was however found guilty and was sent back to Neo-Macedonia for punishment. When returned back home, the Queen ordered that he be burned at the stake as was the custdom of Catholic Europe.

The Rebirth of Catholic Neo-Macedonia

With her husband gone and the nation returned to her, Queen Chloe assumed the throne as Sacred Queen of the Neo-Macedonia and began to long task of reconstruction. During this process the Sacred Queen made many changes, including the creation of the Sisterhood of Mary, from which the Queen choses her heir to the Neo-Macedonian throne.

The Prophecies of Neo-Macedonia

As the days drew closer to the now old Sacred Queen Chloe's death, she was appearently visited by her deaed husband Alexander. He told her that God had sent him to her so that she could fulfill his final task and allow her to enter the kindgdom of heaven where he waited for her. The task was to relay to the world, God's word or prophecies which he wished to give so that his children could see a glimpse into the hard future whcih they had ahead of them. With the help of her closest aid, sister Claire of the sisterhood of Mary, Chloe had the prophecies which Alexander told her, recorded. They are an interesting bunch of mysteries declarations of which many religious scholars still study today to understand their meaning.
