Hob Fitzkrieg Nelson (1825-1901) was the Usurping non-titled head of state of the Federal States of Desh separatist state for a period of nine months 1883-1884.He was born in England in 1825 and moved into a primarily american colony in Desh in 1850.In 1853 he was elected a member of the National Senate Seat number 18.This post he held until his deposition on the grounds that he did not hold american citizenship in 1856.In 1858 he oposed the plan of Francis Bearinghton to make the colony into an independant state and was so arested, tried and imprisoned for "treason" in 1859,he was, however realeased upon the general amnesty of 1860.In 1862 the law that forbade natives and non-americans from becoming senators was repealed ,following the election of Ahmadji Saalmahdenejid to seat 16 of the Senate-as a consequence,he was restored as senator of seat 18 , but quarels with his successor,Jeromé Barnard ,forced the legislature to create the 51th seat for Barnard to ocupy.Nelson served as senator until his resination in 1870.In 1871 he was suspected to be a part of a revolutionary group called Le Mona ,but no proof was found and Nelson was freed of the charges in 1872.In 1880 he openly oposed the election of a local, Mamood Yama'k ar-Hastiri ,to the post as head of state. As a consequence of an "un-armed assault of the head of state" he was automaticly sentenced to 8 months of prison.ar-Hastiri offered to give him a pardon, but he refused. In prison,he allied with former deposed president Gerard Ellisawen Roberts ,with whom he was released following the general amnesty of 1882,after a mere 29 days of prison. He went into contact with General Oidipus Clammers jr. ,son of the third head of state and the acting Chief of Senate, following the deposition of Francisco Clarence .In 1883 Nelson, together with Clammers and Roberts, stormed the National Senate, temporarily abolishing it ,thanks to the law, giving the citizens the power to depose it,should it ever "betray them".He then established Roberts as acting head of state, however had him to take his term the following day.Overnigth,Roberts was asasinated and Nelson,as the "second-in-line" (as acting prime minister) took the position of head of state. He met with a Desh representative a month later, only to have him arrested and declare war on Desh.Over 16 000 soldiers were sent by the Desh government and won a grand victory over Nelson in the "Nelson" war .However, the army mearely retrieved the ambassador and left.Nelson, who was now seen as a traitor by the majority of his citizens, isolated himself in the presidential villa, witch was guarded heavily by over 700 soldiers. They ,however, left their posts on 18th November 1884 after the new head of state, Armand Gouré-Smith ,who was elected by the restored National Senate two days prior, ordered them to from his title as chief-in-command of the armed forces.Nelson was imprisoned and sentenced to 12 years of prison for "treason".In 1892 he was given an early parole and died on his estate in 1901.
