Background and History

Early Starts

Ian John Locke II is a nation that was formed upon the traditions, beliefs and political writings of Wikipedia:John Locke. The founding fathers of Ian John Locke II were all three honored in the naming of the wondrous nation, after their deaths. Ian Paul Lewis VI, John Horris Baker, and Locke Michael Saint-Guillemi-de-Ockham were childhood friends who grew up together in their poor town within the region of The South Pacific. All attending the top Ivy League school in their nation, Demosthenes University, they all majored in the political sciences studying the Ancient Philosophers and Western Philosophers in particular. They all came to a great appreciation of John Locke, a Western Philosopher, and [Wikipedia:Demosthenes], a philosopher of ancient Greece.

Viva la Revolution!

Due to this top grade education and these pure political ideas, Ian Paul Lewis VI, John Horris Baker, and Locke Michael Saint-Guillemi-de-Ockham started a revolution. They created a new nation, which was at the time known as Phosphor the Lucifist and moved to a new region known as treateis. The three chose "Phosphor the Lucifist" as a name because they believed they illuminated the minds of their nation's citizens.

A Change of Name

After 20 years of economic struggle, the nation found its footing in the world at large. To commemorate this feat, the triumvirate of Ian Paul Lewis VI, John Horris Baker and Locke Michael Saint-Guillemi-de-Ockham, held elections for a new nation name. The options were:

  • Demosthenes-Locke
  • Theseus the Mod
  • Phosphor the Lucifist

The majority of the people, 63.256%, chose Theseus the Mod to be their new nation name. In second place came Phosphor the Lucifist with 24.496%. Finally came Demosthenes-Locke with 12.248%. And so, by the choice of the people, the three rulers officially changed the name to Theseus the Mod.

A New Triumvirate

Amazingly, only 30 years later, on a publicity flight to encourage immigrants, all three of Ian John Locke II's founders, were killed in a terrible plane crash. Almost having foreseen this tragedy, the triumvirate had picked out their own accedants to the reigns of power. Surprisingly these three had no idea of their chances of power in the nation. These three were:

  • Brian Jonathon Stewart, 30 [Replaced: John Horris Baker]
  • Michael Theseus Moderator, 29 [Replaced: Locke Michael Saint-Guillemi-de-Ockham]
  • Evan Calta Demosthenes, 30 [Replaced: Ian Paul Lewis VI]

As can be seen by their names, the parents of these young men, were immigrants to Phosphor the Mod and Theseus the Mod [different names used to show time difference]. The reasons for the selection of these three men, wsa never disclosed as the First Triumvirate was not alive to explain.

A Second Naming

In order to honor the First Triumvirate, the Second Triumvirate renamed the nation Ian John Locke taking the first name of each of the three founders.

This new triumvirate ruled for 5 years and then the people grew angry

A Second Revolution

Five years, and the Second Triumvirate had not yet found it's correct style of governing. This "Baby Triumvirate" as it was known as by the people of Ian John Locke. The only act they had done that had pleased the people was the re-naming of the country. The economy was better than it had been during the First Triumvirate but the fact was that the gap between wealthy and the average blue collar working man was growing wider and wider and social mobility was only possible in the downwards sense.

The new triumvirate worked for the last two years to stop and reverse this increase in national poverty. Finally, in their last year in power, the people led by a young educated man of 25 years named Willem Carrol McEwan took power, and executed the Second Triumvirate.

A New Leader and a New Name for a Year

When Willem Carrol McEwan took power, he made sure he was the sole autocratic dictator of Ian John Locke. However, not appreciating the fact that the First Triumvirate had left three "babies" to take control of the nation, Dictator McEwan changed the name yet again. This time, the new name was Willemland.

The people were infuriated but happy that they national poverty line was getting better and that the corrupt corporations were getting what they deserved.

However, around the middle of his rule as autocratic dictator, Willem Carrol McEwan became so corrupt that he began sending nation guardsmen out to pillage and burn smaller impoverished Secondvilles [many of those impoverished during the Second Triumvirate formed their own small towns which they named Secondvilles in order to slander the Second Triumvirate].

Throughout the social classes and all of Willemland, this spread a fire of hatred for the autocrat-dictator.

The Last Revolution

The people of Willemland were now led into another revolution by the children of the Second Triumvirate:

  • Brian Jonathon Stewart II, 32 [Son of: Brian Jonathon Stewart]
  • Michael Theseus Moderator II, 33 [Son of: Michael Theseus Moderator]
  • Evan Calta Demosthenes II, 31 [Son of: Evan Calta Demosthenes II]

Once having the national capital building surrounded, the national guardsmen and dictator's personal protectorates surrendered. Having seen this from his window with his own eyes Willem Carrol McEwan took his rifle from the time he led the Second Revolution and ended his own life.

The Third Triumvirate

The children of the Baby Triumvirate took power by popular demand. Having studied their father's notes, they had found the reason for the economic boom and increase in poverty. The nation had no significant public education laws governing it. The Third Triumvirate fixed this with solid laws that let no loop holes through and has dedicated itself to education of the people.

A Final Name Change

In memory of their fathers' short reign, the Third Triumvirate re-named the country Ian John Locke II.
