Brief History

In the year 2004 many factors came together to allow major changes to Japan. The first of these was the testing of Nuclear weapons by Kim Jong Il's North Korea. Japan was now faced with two Communists Nuclear Powers in its region, anti-communist tensions and pro-military feelings resurged in Japan

At the same time, discontent with the Iraqi Conflict and the reproccusions of Americas depressions, made many feel Japan was too dependent on the United States.

These mixed together to allow for nationalism to surge in the nation. To take advantage was Nashonarizumu Sangyousaisei Koutou meaning 'National Revival Party' abreviated NSK. The NSK rose to political contender almost overnight, achieving a majority in the National Diet, and thus giving its leader, Yushiko Irawana the Prime Ministership.

As the international situation fell into the Muslim wars (2001-2016) Irawna steered clear of western politics and practiced military and political isolationism, while still trading with both sides.

However, after the war, Japan Claimed its right to many former United States Territories, such as Guam and the Marianas Islands. In addition to allowing Japanese vessels to fish in a much greater area, Japan has set up several fully functional airfields on many of these remote Islands, greatly increasing their immediate air power range.

Government

The NSK quickly achieved political control, and moved quickly towards semi-autocracy. Its policies were strongly in line with the thinking of Japan before the war. It quickly ammended the Constitution to allow a Military, and began working the Japanese Defense Force into that role.

Economics continued much the same in Japan, strongly capitalist; Noted by the working together of manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and banks in closely-knit groups called keiretsu; cozy relations with government bureaucrats, and the guarantee of lifetime employment. However unlike previous years it has made strong anti-union decisions.

In theory, Japan still has democracy, in practice it is very far from it. It still has a Prime Minister and Diet, but these are almost overwhelmingly ultra-nationalist. Other Parties exist, though all within the extreme right, and only then under the acceptance of the NSK, such as the Expantionist Party Kokusaitenkai Koutou or KTK, and the Emperor Loyalists Hijirinomiyo Koutou. Off the books these parties know they exist soley because the NSK allows them.

Those who do stand against the ruling government almost inevitably are alienated by a populace generally willing to do so, and are quickly charged with crimes by the government soon after, ranging from Tax-evasion to Conspiracy.

Trade Negotiations are being made with Al4khr1v3st4n, exchanging Japan's industrial products to them, in exchange for food, helping make up for the poor agriculture of the Nation.

Leader

Yushiko Irawana, was born rich. Son of a head of media, he quickly took a liking to politics, philosophy and history. He joined the NSK and rose to its leadership very early, essentially building the party up to what it is today. The NSK and Irawana are inseperable, and so it seems is the NSK and Japan. He is noted for his loud and passionate speaking style.

Military

Japan's Foundation of the AAA has played a critical role in its Military developement, for better and worse. For better, it has provided valuable trade partners willing to share the highest military secrets particularly The South Korean Republic Daehan Minguk, which has shared the K1/A1 battle tank. Commisioned as the Touhou Doumeigun Shusentousensha (Oriental Ally Tank) mark I. Contracts were given to Japanese Industry to begin producing the tanks independently of Korea, with over 100 in service and more in production. [[1]] The armies main focus however is on special infantry operations. Japan expects warfare in the form of Island Hopping or a conflict with North Korea, so there is little emphasis on armor.

The navy is undertaking abitious nuclear-powered aircraft carriers with a displacement of over 100,000 tons the Shippu, Wanizame and Ketsubutsu, The navy is also beggining to consider designs for battleships.

The Airforce has received the vast majority of Military funds, and though the planes in service were largely F-2s though plans are underway for an attack fighter aircraft called the RS-1, and a bomber aircraft called the BC-1
