Jaeda

Jaeda is a province in the northwestern part of Morindira that is comprised entirely of the former Duchy of Jaedin. It borders Mestya to the southeast, Havlislin to the east, Greater Tomania to the north and the Belegaer sea to the west.

Geography

Major cities in Jaeda include Szhleigh, Ram, ben Hadad, and Ravitz.

Major geographical features include:

  • The Blue Coast, one of the most famous coasts in Morindira.
  • The Basin d'Arcaco, a large lagoon where collecting shellfish is common.
  • The southwest of the region includes the parts of the Adamah Tova mountains.
  • The Dune de Pliies, near Arcaco is the largest sand dune in Gemini Exterro.

Languages

Hebrew is the majority language of the region. Other native languages include Quenya Elvish in the far north of the region and various forms of ancient Jaedin. Immigrants have brought English, Spanish, Sindarin Elvish and many other non native tongues into the region.

Economy

  • Agriculture:

The grape is by far the biggest product of the region.

Forestry is also productive in the north of the region, including Gemini Exterro's largest pine forest.

  • Extractive Industries:

Natural Gas and petrol are both found and extracted in the area, by companies such as PML Jaeda.

  • Industry:

Wine-making, distilling and by-products are hugely important to the area as an industry and culturally. According to the Ministry of Finance, 7 million hectolitres of wine are produced in Jaeda.

Aerospace, in particular KASI.

  • Services:

Education, with universities at Ram and Ravitz, which have over 80,000 students

Tourism is hugely popular, in particular along the Blue Coast for sun and surfers. There are major resorts at Szhleigh, Ram, ben Hadad and Hendae. Hiking and skiing in the Adamah Tova mountains is also popular. Holiday homes and camping sites abound.

Sports

The region is home to many successful sports teams. In particular worth mentioning are:

  • The Jaedin Comets, one of Morindira's most successful association quidditch teams.

Rugby is particularly popular in the region. Clubs include:

  • Barritz, finalists in the most recent Exterran Rugby Cup.
