"We are the Will. We are the Blade. We are the Hunters. We are the Bound. By our service we shall bring Honor to the Bloodline of the First. Be ever vigilant, be every dedicated and always remember that the Blood of the Taurain comes first. Serve the Taurain without question and grant them your life and your death for you are Jaiden and you are the Blood Guardians of the Servants. Should ever the Bloodline of the First come to an end; let your pain be felt at the world for you have failed and all that remains is vengeance and Hate." - Exerpt from the book of Darin written three hundred years after the formation of the Jaiden.

The Jaiden (Translated: Steel) are the personal guardians of the Taurain family. They are divided through different branches, each seeking to protect the Imperial family in their own specialised means. Currently the Jaiden are close to a state of 'depression' because for the first time in nearly a 1000 years the Taurain family is close to extinction with only two remaining Taurains, one of whom is branded a traitor and enemy of the Taurain's.

History

The Jaiden began their existence over ninehundred years ago and were founded by the first known Taurain; Dumar. The Jaiden were the army in those days rather then a honor guard unit. Using the Jaiden, Dumar Taurain succeeded in conquering two of the four kingdoms on Tavaroth before he turned his attention to his Elven masters and used his Jaiden forces to start a decade long war against the South Land. While the Jaiden's skills were superior and their will to fight was greater they had the disadvantage of less numbers and they probably would have lost in the end despite their superior skills had it not been for the 'Cleansing' which 'glassed' an entire province in Taveroth's South Land, destroying large portions of both armies but completely demoralised the South Land forces while everyone believed that it was a sign of the Gods that they favoured Dumar and his goals.

They key of the Jaiden's success was their superior training and nearly fanatical devotion to Dumar whom they believed to be a 'Servant of the Desert Spirits'. However after the final battle against the Elves that ruled the South land of Tavaroth, most of his Jaiden had been killed and Dumar realised that if he went through the effort of retraining a army with the same dedication of the Jaiden it would take to long and his newly conquered empire would fall apart from civil uprisings. As such a normal army was started and the Jaiden were from that point on a private army whose purpose was solely to protect Dumar and his bloodline. Even though the Empire would suffer many civil wars over time and for a total of a hundred non continuous years would even be removed from power, the Taurain bloodline always survived and the Jaiden always served them no matter the political situation.

Current State

During the reign of Arnaud Taurain, shortly after the Taurain's had retaken control of the nation after a fifty year long civil war, the Jaiden numbers were exponantionally expanded to the point that many of the Jaiden were of sub par quality both physically and mentally. Rumors came abound of Jaiden who abused their training and status to haress civilians and the reputation of the Jaiden began to plummet. After ten years of Arnaud's rule the nation of Tarakalar fell into civil war once more. One of the first acts that Tatiana Taurain enacted after she was forced to take up the governing of the broken nation was ordering a mass dismissal amongst the Jaiden. As a Jaiden herself and one of their most prized guards, the young princess earned even more respect amongst the truely dedicated Jaiden who took pride in having their numbers cleansed.

Now the Jaiden are divided. Some have remained behind in Tavaroth in an effort to maintain some strongholds for their new Empress while most of the Jaiden followed Tatiana to the nation of Azerran where she now rules.

Currently the Jaiden are composed of a total of 5.000 men and women which are devided amongst the three branches.

Devisions

Kelthak de Jaiden

(Blades of Steel): while over time they have changed, the Kelthak de Jaiden are in essence the direct descendants of the jaiden forces used by Dumar Taurain when he conquered the four lands of Tavaroth and united them for the first time under a single ruler. The Kelthak de Jaiden are military special forces specifically trained to defend the military attacks. Most are taken from the special forces of the military. They heavily co-operate with the military but their ranks are higher then their military counterparts.

The Kelthak de Jaiden are usually seen wearing heavy body armor that covers nearly the entire body, their face recogniseable by a transparent bulletproof face covering. they Kelthak de Jaiden take up 2.000 members of the total Jaiden force.

Infidin de Jaiden

(Will of Steel): The Infidin de Jaiden came into being around sevenhundred years ago when a standard military force was no longer required. The infidin de Jaiden are closer to traditional body guards then the other forces and they are usually seen accomanying imperial familiy members of other highly important and valued members of the goverment. The Infidin de Jaiden are the most recogniseable of all the Jaiden forces due to their heavy reinforced black trenchcoats over black bodysuits. While this in it self may not be all to uncommon for security forces, it should be bared in mind that the jaiden found their origin in a desert land. Their trenchcoats are in fact advanced survival gear that aside from it's protection from convential weapons also regulates body temperature and is capable of recycling body wastes up to a point.

Of all groups of the Jaiden, the Infidin de Jaiden have the harshest psycological training and though many seem perfectly stable they are in fact fanatically devoted to protecting the Taurain bloodline. As a result when the former Emperor Arnaud Taurain and then Crown Prince Alexander Taurain were killed, several thousands of these Jaiden killed themselves as their sheer fear of losing the last 'true' Taurain was to great to continue. Those who did not kill themselves however became nearly three times as devoted to protecting the Taurain bloodline and it is no secret many of them pray that the Empress quickly finds a way of bearing children.

Though they should be lower in number, the fact that the current Empress was a member of this branch of the Jaiden means she has favored them and they now have a total 2.500 members.

Turruc el Jaiden

(Death by Steel): The Turrec el Jaiden were born shortly after Dumar had created his 'Enduring Empire'. The first of them were the desert elves of Tavaroth; the Eduyab’Kerrudar. THey thought much of their knowledge as hunters to the other members and the Turruc el Jaiden grew into a assasination and vengeance branch of the Jaiden. This group is dedicated to hunting and removing threats to the Taurain bloodline before they can strike. If they fail in this, they will seek to retaliate by ensuring the offenders die an appropiate dead.

Their training ensures that the Turruc el Jaiden are able to survive in nearly any earth 'friendly' enviroment by utilising their knowledge of survival in the wild. Their dedication to their task that there are rumors of Turruc el Jaiden staking out spots for weeks to find the perfect time and spot to utilise their sniper rifles to remove a threat.

The Turruc el Jaiden has always been the smallest branch of the Jaiden forces as they need to maintain their semi secret existence as such there have never been more then 500 hundred of them at any point in history and this number is being maintained by Tatiana Taurain.
