People's Republic of Jannteuvvel is a Communist State in Scandinavia. Despite its location in this area, it has had close ties with Eastern Europe throughout its history, and is therefore usually associated with states and nations in Eastern Europe.

Jannteuvvel is one of only two hardline Communist states in Eastern Europe, along with informal ally Krasnayaorsk. There has been recent plans however, to re-establish the de-funct "Comintern" as a means of mutual defense.

As of December 15th, 2006, Jannteuvvel and Krasnayaorsk are poised to intervene in the Nikolaykrainia, where Communist and anarchist forces are seeking to overthrow the current regime.

Government

Politics

As a Communist state, nearly 95% of businesses in Jannteuvvel are state owned. The branch of government responsible for almost all decisions made in Jannteuvvel, known as the Haemmen Kounzaelle, is headed by the Heer Vuuhaer Joghann ko Mannzhausky.

Foreign Affiars

Jannteuvvel's foreign affairs are generally lukewarm with neighbours. Recently, ties with Krasnayaorsk have become increasingly close as a result of the Nikolaykrainian Civil War. Jannteuvvan troops are currently stationed in northern Krasnayaorsk, and along with allied forced, are expected to proceed into the wartorn nation. The Communist state has recently received threats and condemnations from Lensi-Etala over the handling of Finnish protestors, and the Empire of Marsden over plans in Nikolaykrainia.

Economy

Military

The standing army of Jannteuvvel numbers over 960,000, as a result of compulsary military service from 17 onwards. Led by Defense Minister Jörg Nettelsman, the "Jannteuvvel Liberation Forces" contain several elite divisions, manned by veterans of the "Great Revitalization" of May 2005. The military boasts multi-culturalism in its ranks, including those of Romanian, Finnish, Hungarian, and German descent in higher ranking positions. The airforce, "Jannteuvvel People's Air Defense Force", is currently going under massive re-organization, as part of new policies implemented by the Communist government. The navy, "Jannteuvvel People's Naval Defense Force", contains several ships, and even boasts an under-construction Aircraft Carrier.
