Karakish was the original alphabet of the Sringi people and language, and was promoted by Trimna III Kelangat, which he used to make his famous inscription on the Stele of Ravens. Karakish spread to Dayan and was appropriated for used with Bagura, but fell out of favor among the Sringi in the 1200s with the advent of Aatem Nal and the introduction of the fa'er alphabet.

Karakish is now used largely for monumental inscriptions and in academics, with some Sringi towns and villages having dual printings in fa'er and Karakish.
