The Holy Empire of Kawaroo (also known as Kawaroo) is a small, environmentally stunning & socially progressive nation, notable for its complete lack of prisons and renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 9 million enjoy extensive civil rights and a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.
The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 32%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Trout Farming industry, followed by Gambling and Woodchip Exports.
TV shows must meet strict ethnicity quotas, the government's religious works are headed by a New Age guru, education and welfare spending are on the rise, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, and the Panther is a protected species. Kawaroo's children are widely acknowledged as the most foul-mouthed in the region, it is illegal to make racist remarks in public, and meat-eating is frowned upon. Crime is very low and well under control. Kawaroo's national animal is the Panther, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Xenon.
