King Sebastian XIV was the 14th ruler of The Republic of Adam Island by the name Sebastian, but was the 1st democratically elected leader in Adam Island's history.
His Royal Highness was born in Adam City and groomed to be the heir to the family throne. The Sebastian-Baccarato Dynasty had ruled Adam Island for 17 generations, implementing new political and social reforms. Sebstian continued these reforms by announcing that after his father's death, the Adam Island parliament, the Adamstag, would elect the new ruler of Adam Island. Since the ruling party was the Libertarian Party, it was obvious Sebastian would win. This move also created the Neo-Royalist Party, which charged Sebastian with treason and demanded the royal bloodline be re-kindled.
His laissez-faire policies on government and the fact that his party held the pluralty in the Adamstag means he has had little to do in his official capacity as King, and performed largely ceremonial functions, such as presenting awards to sports figures and notable citizens.
When the Libertarian Party retained their 44-seat pluralty in the Adamstag in 2003, HRH retained his position on the throne. He died on August 23, 2004 of the Rat Flu epidemic. The next day terrorists from what would become the "Holy Reformers" detonated the nuclear arsenal at Ft. Adam, starting the Rat Flu War.
