Lyonais Province

Lyonais is a province in central St Samuel. The province borders Mont-Canisi province, Brunswick province, Frankfort province, Abbincourt province and Breton Province and shares an international border with the Holy Empire of Saint Holden. The provincial capital is Saint Maria. The current Lord Protector of Lyonais is Sir Luciano Di Della-Maldino. It's five largest cities are Saint Maria, Lyonaisia, Aldermere, Saint Jacques and Donalderton.

Lyonais is known for its history and religion, which the province has an abundance of.

History

1500BC - Saint Maria founded by the Sambini tribe, city then known as Syracorsia.

301BC - The Batikan's made Syracorsia it's administrative capital.

10BC - Francisco is made the new capital of Holdinia.

140AD - King Eades made Syracorsia the new capital of Greater Holdinia, which he had renamed Saint Maria after Mary Magdalene the devoted disciple of Jesus.

146AD - In 146AD King Eades divides the kingdom of Greater Holdinia between Lord Knights that remained loyal to him during the war. His most trusted Knight, Sir Marius Di Lyonais is made Lord Knight of Lyonais.

1022AD - After the collapse of the Kingdom of Greater Holdinia, Saint Maria remains the capital of the Northern Holdinia kingdom.
