Mark Alexander Travis was born on July 10th, 1981, in the Imperial capital of Zachara, Kurono. As a young boy, Mark was considered adventerous and outgoing by his family and friends. His younger sister, Alexis Travis, remained his best friend through his entire life. In his teens, he was admitted to the Keystone Bay Military Academy via a referral letter by his second cousin, General Azben Koren. When he was twenty years old, he graduated from the Keystone Bay Military Academy, third in his class. Soon after, he was commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the Imperial Army and placed in the United Empire's security-police. Soon after, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel. He served fearlessly in the Eric Ledger Riots and was awarded a Purple Heart.
Weeks prior to the Colerican-led liberation of Isla De Plata, he was established to regular duty and placed in the 2nd Infantry Division. He landed on Red Sector B, Isla De Plata, as part of the land invasion. He served in classified covert missions throughout the city of Tagdenbar operating with a small covert group nicknamed the Blue Light Operatives. He was wounded in TTH chopper crash, (minor injuries). Shortly after, he was awarded his second Purple Heart. During the middle of the war, he was commissioned as a Brigadier General.
When the Colerican Civil War broke out, Mark was assigned to his own bridgade. Throughout the war, he bravely commanded the 11th Kurono Infantry Brigade ("The Damned Ones") and most notably, won the First Battle of Mexall.
