Political Importance
Muravinsk is the capital city of Murkadia. It is located in the Southwest of the nation, about 40 miles from the Murkadia-Northern Sushi border. A recent construction process undertaken by the previous government moved and rebuilt the Governmental Plaza (as it has become known) slightly outside of the city. Here is where the National Parliament Building is located as well as the headquarters for the government's various ministries.
Economic Importance
The city plays a vital role in the economy of the nation. Roughly 20% of all importants and exports go through the Port of Murkadia. Also the Muravinsk International Airport is home to the nation's most successful air carrier, Pravda Air.
Government
The city of Muravinsk is governed under a system that existed in ancient Russia known as the veche. In ancient times the Veche allowed all adult males residing in a city be able to vote in important matters. The Muravinsk Veche (as well as all other veches in the nation) have expanded that right to vote to women. It is this collective body of voters that run the city. A Veche actually has the power to overrule the national government on certain issues if it falls under the jurisdiction of a particular city.
