The political and Spiritual successors of the TPE, the National People's Party of Espara (Natjionalé Parta Populiste in Esparan) espouses policies based on a mix of small-state socialist ideals, national independence and local self-determination.

Representing the more radical side of Socialist politics in Esparan, the NPP is the largest and most widely supported party on the island. They are currently in a coalition government with the more moderate Democratic Socialists the PSD. The rivalry between these two parties is well known, but their partnership has largely remained stable, primarily due to the thread posed by the opposition PCD/AN coalition.
