Races inhabiting the NationStates world other then humans are often referred to as "Non-humans".

Most predominant amongst these are the Elves but other races such as Orcs, Clangers, Dwarves, Catpeople and Lizardmen are also common; other races, typically extraterrestrial in origin, are only found in one or two nations, such as Sakkra, ZhuQaiya, C'tan, and other truly unusual sorts.

Non-humans are sometimes discriminated in predominantly human societies and they are occasionally persecuted. Several non-human nations have united in the Non-Human Union or NHU.
