The Order of Marx

The Order of Marx, named after the founder of Communism, is the highest national order of the Serene Democratic People's Fiefdom. The Order is bestowed for the following:

  • to civilians for outstanding services rendered to the State
  • to members of the armed forces for exemplary service
  • to those who promoted friendship and cooperation between peoples and in strengthening peace
  • other meritorious services to the Fiefdom and society

The Order was created on the orders of the Presidium of the National People's Soviet on May 5th 1973 on the occasion of Marx's 155th Birthday.

Those who have been issued with a Hero of the Fiefdom are also given an Order of Marx at the same time, though this rarely occurs the other way around. Some comment that the Hero of the Fiefdom operates more as a national recognition of great feats while the Order is given to foreigners. This accusation, although widely repeated, is not entirely true and many members of the Order of Marx have been citizens of the Fiefdom.
