The Parthian National Party is the sole legal political party of Parthia and has been since Shah Ardeshir passed the National Security Act of 1955 which banned all political parties except his own and made dissent an illegal activity. It is not a traditional political party as is the case with most nations, rather, it is an organization created to determine loyalty of citizens and ensure their support and knowlege of the Shah's excellent abilities to rule, creating a method by which dissenters can be sorted out and terminated.

The party has a unique relationship - some critics would say symbiois - with Zaire's ruling political party, the MPR. The two parties regularly meet to discuss issues of importance to both countries and formulate policy.
