The Party of the Democratic Center (Spanish: Partido del Centro Democrático, Hyarmendorean: Daonládhach Larfointe Payrtitá ) is a major political party in the Most Serene Republic of Vassfforcia. The party won its first election in 1955 with an alliance with the DCV, PFP and now with the PST after a major victory over the incumbent PFP in August 2005 general elections after Jean III d’Oqqer had resigned in after a corruption scandal and an failed coup. It currently holds 151 of the 535 seats in the Grand Senate, and is a partner in a coalition with the PST, which won 154 seats.

History

The PCD was formed in 1947 with the democrats within the Reformist Party (which disappeared at the same time) to oppose both the PUN of extreme right and even fascist tendencies and the Communist Party which had a Leninist tendency and had some success preventing those parties from entering the government in coalitions with the DCV and the PFP. The party has moved from liberalism to social democrat only in the last decade.
