The Dominion of Pistol Whipped People is a strong, dictatorial and left-wing Stalinist nation. Its leader, Comrade Terrence Wakefield, has been in power since the inception of the nation, ruling with an iron fist to destroy all elements of capitalist decadence to build the perfect Communist utopia. Opposition is brutally suppressed.

History

The Dominion was initially created by the Comrade when he and his private army escorted 4 million people out of Induced Capitalism at gun point, or rather, at pistol point. This day, known in the nation as Brotherhood Day, is now celebrated yearly in the country with an almighty military display from the nation's extensive army. Comrade Terrence was well known within Induced Capitalism for his opposition to the ultra-capitalist regime and was being monitored by the state for subversive activities, when one day he decided that he could stand it no more and founded a new nation on an island off the coast of Great Nuneatonia.

Induced Capitalism's bankrupt army and police forces were unable to challenge the might of the Comrade's private army, as he rounded up four million citizens and escorted them to the islands in an enormous logistic operation that no one yet knows how the Comrade financed.

Although the Comrade had to spend extensive time and effort re-educating his 4 million citizens into the benefits and glories of the Communist ways, he never forgot the immense respect he had for his fellow brothers of man, thus choosing to name his nation in their honour, as they were the Pistol Whipped People. The idea came to him one day as he summarily executed a man for asking the Comrade if he could have his permission to set up a corner shop.

Politics

There is little political in Pistol Whipped People. The three branches of government are united at the top by the Comrade, who rules for the good of his people by creating the laws, executing the laws and judging them. There is no separation of powers, as such moves would allow there to be conflict with the Glorious Diktats of the Comrade.

Executive

The post of chief executive confers the title Comrade, since all men in Pistol Whipped People are equal. This is held by Comrade Terrence Wakefield, who appoints a small clique of Lesser Comrades, who are still just as equal, but the Comrade is primus inter pares. They decide the direction of government policy, and are heads of the government agencies that execute the law, and the citizens.

Legislature

The Comrade decreed that no legislature would be required in Pistol Whipped People, and so conferred the title of Chief Legislature on himself. Once a day, the Comrade rises from bed and writes a new law based on the scrummy dreams he has about Stalin. He signs the law and passes it over to the Lesser Comrades to execute.

Judiciary

There is no need for a judiciary in Pistol Whipped People, since government agencies are permitted to judge the law when crime is found. There is little crime in the country, as the people are faithful to their Comrade. What crime there is is normally attempts to set up black markets, which are heavily suppressed.

In such circumstances, the Comrade as Chief Justice will hold a show trial where the prosecution presents an almighty case to demonstate there is no doubt of the defendant's guilt. The trial ends with the Comrade stripping his fellow comrade in the defence box of his citizenship, declaring him guilty, and then setting an Example to all followers by producing a Pistol of Justice and shooting the Traitor dead.

Demographics

While official census statistics from the government point that 100% of the inhabitants of the nation are of Pistol Whipped heritage, more accurate figures conducted by the UN explain how Pistol Whipped People really is something of a melting pot, given that there is no such thing as Pistol Whipped heritage.

It would be expected that the vast majority of the nation would hark from Induced Capitalism (who in turn mostly come from Wharf Springs), but the aggressive expansion policies of "liberating" foreign citizens, by invading with enormous space ships and stealing millions of citizens at a time, during the first twenty years of the nation lead to a much wider ethnic mix. This policy was instigated to reverse the declining population due to the appalingly low birth rate of the abducted and newly indoctrinated citizens of Pistol Whipped People.

UN surveys put ethnic heritage at:

The Abduction Policy was eventually terminated when the population became self-sustaining, and now the number of Comrades continues to expand at a healthy rate.

Economy

The economy of Pistol Whipped People is entirely state controlled. Administered by the Department for Central Planning, they ensure that from each is taken according to their ability, and then to each citizen it is returned what they need. It is remarkably free from the corruption associated with previous Communist regimes, and the remarkable spending in Healthcare ensures that citizens remain consistently the healthiest in the 18 Beech Grove region.

The currency of Pistol Whipped People is the ear, which is vastly inflated and worthless. Citizens have no need for currency, since their needs are supplied by the government. Instead, currency is mainly used by the government to purchase and finance vast numbers of defence imports. However, it ensures continual trade surplus and budget financing by trading off its enormous excess labour capacity cheaply to other nations.

Pistol Whipped People spends the bulk of its budget on defence and law & order.

Culture

The authoritarian top-down nature of society, as well as the extraordinary police presence, including snooping on every aspect of citizens' lives, ensures that obedience remains the way of life. There is no art, music or literature, for they are deemed to be unproductive wastes of time. Religion is banned, and anyone caught practicing a religion is immediately beheaded.

Citizens follow rigorous daily routines determined by their Local Planning Body in co-ordination with the set targets from the Department for Central Planning. They traditionally rise at 6am, spend an enforced two hours with the rest of their immediate family until 8am, work until 8pm and then return home to spend two enforced hours with their family once more, with optional allowance for visits from more distant family members. Entertainment is provided on the State Television Station in the form of a daily recital of all the Comrade's Great Speeches, the first and foremost of these The Duty of Comrades is universally narrated and repeated in parrot fashion on the State TV at 9pm every night without fail. All citizens must then retire to bed by 10pm

20% of citizens are set to one side to cover alternative shift patterns, ensuring that the nation retains some productivity during the night, but they follow the same daily structure of two hours with family, twelve hours in work, two hours with family and eight hours sleep.

Future

The nation will likely soon enter a turbulent time, as the Great Comrade has now reached his 80th year, and ill health is beginning to fall upon him. His successor is unclear, and the Comrade has no children. The Comrade moves about people in his administration so much that it is hard to pick out anyone who could possibly match his skills at nation-building.

If there is one certainty, it is that the future is uncertain.
