General Info
The Community of PopularFreedom, located in the Heartland Region is a large, devout nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, hard-working population in excess of 125 million are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.
The enormous, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 25%. A large private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Soda Sales.
The mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas, punitive tariffs protect local industry, the police force is on a recruitment drive, and euthanasia is illegal. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. PopularFreedom's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Euro.
PopularFreedom is ranked 32nd in the region and 21,900th in the world for Largest Mining Sector.
