The Quisition

Current Head: Deacon: Findthee-The-Snake-Who-Poisions-The-Holy-Faith
Motto: Cuius testiculos habes, habeas cardia et cerebellum

Undoubtedly the most feared of organisation operating in Omnia today, the Quisition is the order responsible for safeguarding Omnianism from the influences of temptation and evil. This is accomplished by widespread surveillance of the population and those found to be heretical, corrupt or plain unlucky will no doubt find themselves in the Quisition dungeons. Here confessions will be extracted before the bodies are subjected to the cleansing fires. This subscribes to the Omnian belief that giving the body hell sends the soul to paradise. Outside senior Church figures, no evidence is needed for the Quisition to make an arrest; the mere fact that Om has placed suspicion in his servants' minds is proof enough of guilt.

The relationship between the Hierarchy and the Quisition is often a fraught one. Despite relying on the knives of the ExQuisitioners, the senior clergy are nothing if not self-preserving and know the fate of those previous Hierarchies foolish enough to give the Quisition free range. As such there are a number of measures intended to protect the higher ranks of the Church from investigations originating from the dungeons. One result of this nervousness is that the head of the Quisition is limited to the rank of Deacon. Some see the Church’s continued maintenance and support of the Divine Legion and various intelligence agencies as a counterweight to the powers of the Quisition.
