King Ragarth followed his father, King Olof III to the throne of Citadel Excalbia in 1789.  His reign saw the expansion of a lowland confederation that was fueled by a conversion to Christianity and supported by armed traders from North America.  After years of warfare, Ragarth made peace with the lowlanders near the end of his reign.  His son and heir converted to Christianity and took the name [[Joshua]].  After marrying the daughter of the one of the North American missionaries, Joshua proclaimed the Holy Empire of [[Excalbia]] on Christmas Day in 1809.
