The Ramshackle Shack Unfit for a National Government was the predecessor of the present capitol building, the Hall of Legislative Convergence, in which the unicameral legislative branch of the Commonwealth of Oglethorpia convened. It only came to be known by its current name after being succeeded by the modern Hall in Megalopolis Plaza, noting its penchant to disintegrate and collapse.

History of the Shack

The first recorded meeting of the Nationwide Assembly of the Commonwealth was in X563; it was estimated that the poorly-concieved structure was rebuilt seven times a year over its five year existance. When the Commonwealth's legislature voted overwhelmingly to found a stronger national government, the days of the Ramshackle Shack all of a sudden became numbered; after the formal unification of Oglethorpia into the Bureaucratic States, a permanent home for the bicameral Legislative Convergence was completed.

To honor the historic roots of the Bureaucratic States, across from the Hall of Legislative Convergence, an exact replica of the Ramshackle Shack stands; so accurate a copy is it, that it collapses seven times a year, just like the original. It not only acts as a monument to the genesis of the nation from a loose confederacy to a strong federal republic, but also has created something of an event in the disintegration and reconstruction of the Shack. Tourists hope to catch a glimpse of it crashing to the ground, but more often see it being ritually reconstructed.
