History
In 2880 ,the Fedral union had several designs on the board for a state of the art cruiser , since the star fleet was getting a bit gracefully aged , the Raptor class was result , it would fill the role of an escort ship for carriers and a front line heavy assault cruiser . In 2869 the ground work was laid for the raptor class development project with starting fund of about 3.4 trillion Fedral dollars, there goal was to make a state of the art multi role assault cruiser .
In 2874 The first prototype was ready its weapons were still standard Fedral based , but
in 2875 with the Mykonian incident , alarmed Starfleet and caused massive funding and research teams to pour in to the project , new weapons were yielded as were new shields
by 2879 a fully functional Raptor class star ship was already under construction.
By 2880 New research had slowed the progress of the new ship by 4 years ,to incorporate things like Regenerative Plank fused Mk 8 shielding , plank fused amour
, Cochrane Hypofemto quantum induction core, (Hyper quantum slipstream) (Classified) And new type 14 heavy phaser arrays.
