Redheadian Revolution

The Redheadian Revolution was Red's revolution against Oceanic Evil Wombats. Red brought down the government of Wombats, however, the factions under his command splintered and the country was plunged into a nine-month long civil war. Red emerged victorious and created the nation of A Crazy Wacko Redhead to replace Oceanic Evil Wombats.

Discontent in Oceanic Evil Wombats

Discontent had begun to brew in Oceanic Evil Wombats in the fall of 2003. Rumors began to spread about the government's involvement in terrible scientific and military projects. Soon, a cult led by a man named Red, the Vergandians, began to call for a regression to medieval technology for the entire nation. In November of 2003, the wild blondes, the results of a secret government project that corrupted humans, changing them into a mindless killing machines, escaped from their factory in the Jungles of Erdia. The Jungles were quarantined, but not before the populace learned of the existence of the wild blondes. Red's cult promptly gained massive popularity and calls were made nation-wide for the leaders of Oceanic Evil Wombats to step down.

Revolutionaries Gather

Red began to recruit businesses to fund his revolution and gained the support of several major organizations. He attracted many people with his Vergandian cult, which called for a regression to past tech. Red also gathered many people who wanted to create an anarchist government in order to gain greater power for the common people. Most importantly, Red managed to convince one of the major generals in the Wombat army, Gen. Hector Folgaric, to join his revolt.

Government Reprisals

Hearing of the discontent among the populace, the government began cracking down on suspect individuals, such as outspoken liberal commenters and human rights activists, however, they mostly ignored those under Red's command, considering them harmless. The crackdowns outraged the populace and attracted many to Red's banner. This was only intensified by the government's slaughter of the small city of Pundle. Members of a human rights group convinced the people of the city to reject the government of Oceanic Evil Wombats and the city divorced itself from the nation. In response, the government used their biological and chemical weapons, along with orbital bombardment, to slaughter the inhabitants of the city, killing nearly 200,000 people. In response, Red declared that Oceanic Evil Wombats was a tyranny and started the Revolution.

Revolution

On December 5th, Red announced the revolution and gained the support of the many factions that opposed the government. Many parts of the country promptly came under the control of the rebels. Human rights groups supported by Rioki took control of a large northern section of the country surrounding Pundle and another small area to the south. Anarchist groups overthrew the government forces in a small region south west of the capital and a tiny collection of villages directly east of the capital. However, the largest revolt occurred in the south where a massive swathe of the south joined the revolution. Two cities gave their support to the rebels and Red personally defeated the pro-government forces in the city of Rodria. In addition, Gen. Folgaric commanded the Southern Wombat Army to join the revolt and began advancing northwest with his troops, hoping to connect with the anarchists near the capital.

Government Response

The government was able to do little against the revolution. Nearly a third of the standing army had joined the revolution, mostly under Folgaric's command, and the majority of the troops were positioned in the north or at the capital. The anarchists east of the capital and the activists in the northeast were quickly crushed, but the area around Pundle proved difficult. The scientists in Wombats were unable to use their chemical weapons or space warships near the cities or towns because they feared that Rioki would enter the war if any more innocents were slaughtered. In the mean time, Red lead his Vegandians into the city of Perth, in the eastern half of the nation, and defeated the Wombat troops in a sharp fight at the river and outside the city. Red was greeted as a liberator in Perth, after winning the first battle of the war.

Folgaric's Dash

In an amazing show of skill and determination, Folgaric's troops advanced rapidly across the barren middle of Wombats and reached the city of Noln in only two weeks. He surprised their defenders and joined up with anarchist troops who were fighting capably in area southwest of the capital. They defeated a large force of tanks north of Noln, causing a series of resignations in the Wombat government from people who feared that the war had already been lost. However, this victory was blunted by the defeat of the northern activists, whose army was crushed near Pundle.

January

Red's troops continued advancing across the nation. His troops took two cities in the north and the south and Folgaric defeated another of Wombat's tank forces near the city of Mustil. At this point, Red had control of more than half of Wombats and many predicted that the war would end soon. However, Wombat's troops were now reaching the front, and his factories were turning out hundreds of tank that would soon turn the tide. Folgaric and Red joined up to take an anarchist area east of the capital, however, this time they were fighting the Northern Army. Although Red's forces were victorious, his troops were bloodied badly in the confrontation. On January 20th, Red suffered another setback when his forces received a sharp defeat near the Jungles of Erdia where his anarchists were slaughtered by the elite security forces. In addition, Red started losing territory in the north as Wombat's forces pushed back the front.

Wombat's success

In February, Wombat's forces began a tank blitz along the southern and northern fronts. Red's troops lost the city of Holopen to the south and Centa to the north. Vergandians under one of Red's commanders marched forward to meet Wombat's troops in the north, however, they made the mistake of staying the night in territory that was unguarded against Wombat's air superiority. Orbital bombardments smashed the troops and Wombat's tanks quickly pushed them back to Perth. However, this success was tempered when Folgaric broke through Wombat's lines and Red's troops reached the capital. Promptly, Wombats switched their focus to protecting Wolochia and reinforcements from all fronts moved to protect the capital.

March

Across the northern and southern fronts, the two sides remained stalemated since Red's troops were able to do little against Wombat's tanks, however, the majority of the tanks had been withdrawn to protect Wolochia. Red's forces slowly encircled the city, breaking through every barrier that Wombats put in his path. In mid-March, Red was able to seal the blockade. He spread guerrillas armed with anti-tank weapons across the area north of the city then made an attack against the last fort that kept the blockade closed. Wombat sent out many of his elite tank forces, who were sharply defeated by the guerrillas, while Red took the fort. The blockade was complete and the Battle of Wolochia had begun.

The Battle of Wolochia

Red's promptly sent his troops into Wolochia, intent of taking the city before the tanks from the other fronts could break the blockade. Over the course of March and April, his troops slowly clawed their way through the city as the Wombat reinforcements began to push back Red's troops enforcing the blockade. By mid-April, Red had forced his way into the inner city, and broke into the government sector after a mob of anarchists, who were later dubbed The Mad Miners, broke through a critical defensive position, defeating some of Wombat's elite troops. Red widened the breach from the south and east and on April 19th, Red entered the main government building and killed the scientists in charge of the government. However, he prudently gathered up as many of his business supporters and Vergandians and went into hiding. This was because the next day, the nation was plunged into a civil war.

Civil War

Folgaric attempted to declare himself the leader of Wombats, which promptly drew outrage from the anarchists, the human rights activists, and the former government forces. Relations between the four groups quickly descended into violence and Red's Vergandians were often drawn in to the conflict as well. All the forces attempted to find and kill Red in order to cement their position in the nation, but Red managed to elude them. For eight months, war raged between all of the participants. This is where the bulk of the causalities, especially the civilian casualties took place. The various factions began to bleed each other to death, with Folgaric being killed in October, the slaughter of the activist leaders by anarchists, and the dissolution of all of the armed forces. Red built up his army during this time, and on the 1st of December, he emerged to unite the country. On December 5th, he declared himself the leader of A Crazy Wacko Redhead, which would replace the nation of Oceanic Evil Wombats, and brought peace to the country.
