Rhovanni

Rhovanni is the second city of the nation of Havanis in the region of New Mactopia. It is built on a volcanic plug in the northern Tha'Sham plains, and has a commanding view of the surrounding lowlands. Rhovanni was built as a fortress city, to serve as a place that could stand against any foreign invasion. Three concentric circles of walls surround the city on the plains below, and even if these walls are breached, the enemy must endure a gruelling climb up thousands of steps on the cliffaces of the volcanic plug. Here, there are many more obstacles placed strategically to hamper an enemy force, such as corridors leading to killing zones, buckets of boiling oil that can be dropped from above, murder holes and tunnels hewn into the volcanic rock itself. Perched precariously above the city is the Fortress of the Gatekeeper, the last refuge for the defenders of Rhovanni. The patron god of Rhovanni is Arthesis, who is as impregnable as the city itself.
