Richard VI (Richard John Billopec, born 11th May 1937) was the last Lord (monarch) of Billopesha and was also a prime minister of Derenny. He was prime minister of Derenny from 1963 - 1971, serving two five-year terms which made him a great figure in politics. He then consecutively ruled as Lord of Billopesha from June 1971 to October 2006, serving 35 years as ruler. During his rule, he was seen as a great ruler who acheived much, mostly leading Billopesha to victory in the 22-year war against Hontock. He was also said to be leader of an unknown society called the 'Antiquitus Specialis', a society whose purpose is still not clear. He volutarily abdicated after the Political War pf 2006 between the Imperialist Enterprise and the Republican Federation, none of which he actually supported. Although he was still a popular leader, he abdicated, saying that "It is time to let democracy do it's job". Words which many have said shows his wise attitide. Although now in retirement, he is still seen as a celebrity figure in Billopesha. He has one child, a son named Ivan Billopec who has recently ended his term in office as the Prime minister of Derenny, the position his father had years earlier.

Early Life

Born in 1937 in the ancient city of Billopec, Richard Billopec, who was the son of the next Lord of Billopesha, grew up as a strong and intelligent boy. It was tradition in the Billopeshian family that all the boys would be warriors so that’s what his father set out for him to be. His father trained Richard in the art of fencing and throughout his childhood, during World War II, he trained hard and was known to have played sword fighting many times with his friends. When Richard’s grandfather, Henry IX, died in 1943, his father, George Billopec, became the Lord of Billopesha leaving Richard as next in line. As Richard grew older, he became more talented. He attended Elsillim School and then Bridge College where he became fluent in Latin. But family matters soon became a problem and he and his mother started to see less and less of his father for some unknown reason as he was nearly always away. Soon, it drove his parents into arguments and finally divorce in 1958 when Richard was 21. His mother left along with Richard’s younger brother, Alexander Billopec, who was 17 at the time. Richard fell out with his father over the matter and ran off to have some time to himself.

His Journey and Problems back home

During the next few years, he explored outside Billopesha, gaining experience and practicing his skills. He travelled to Mineton in Derenny and while travelling across Flonion in 1959, met a mysterious man who claimed that Richard was the chosen one to be the next leader of the ‘Antiquitus Specialis’. Billopec didn’t know what he was talking about so was offered to learn with him by the mysterious man. After 2 years he understood the meaning of it and became their leader. He then continued his travelling in 1961 and went to Sundale in Bironta where he met the now famous Dr. Kilroy, a young man of 20, who he made good friends with. Richard stayed there until 1963 when there was an assassination attempt on his father.

His father, George, had been shot in the arm and Richard returned to Billopec to meet him. They made up after their fall out and Richard took the opportunity to become Prime-Minster of Derenny (which was given to the son of the Lord). He won the election and stayed in Mineton when the man who tried to kill his father was captured. The man was given a life sentence and was identified as a Hontockian supremeist, which made Richard become very angry. He wanted revenge so travelled to Hontock to kill the Lord of Hontock, Damien V. He fought his way through the palace and challenged Damien V to a sword fight. They fought each other but Richard was defeated. Although defeated, Damien V let Richard go and he went back to Mineton. Richard stayed in Mineton and while there, met a woman called Linya Keldington who he later got married to in 1967. That same year, Damien V died and Ogelon became the next Lord of Hontock, and enemy of Richard.

Reign

Richard stayed in Minton until 1971 when he heard that his father had grown rapidly ill with pneumonia and before he could return to Billopec, his father died. Richard wished he could have been there with him when he died and returned to Bilopec after resigning as prime minister of Derenny (it happened to be his last year in office anyway), for he was now Lord of Bilopesha. When he became Lord, he inherited the Golden Sword of Samarkand and his brother, Alexander appeared to try and claim the throne. Alex believed he should be the Lord and be given Golden Sword of Samarkand but his reasons were unfounded. In the end, rivalry caused Richard to throw Alex out of Billopec. In 1968, Richard began teaching people to become scholars.

In 1972, Ogenarc became the next Lord of Hontock and revolutionized Billopesha’s rival. In a quick and swift move, Hontock declared war on Billopesha and the two countries battled in the 22-Year War. That same year, Billopec’s wife, Linya, gave birth to Ivan Billopec, so far their only child. Then, in 1975, Alex returned again, this time with an army he brought from Ogenarc. Richard and his army fought him and defeated him and although Alex escaped, he was never seen again. In 1982, Richard started teaching a man called Michael Cunningham who was talented and interested in the subject. He was taught for some time until he started to get ideas of his own, bad ideas. He came up with ridiculous plans and ideas that were similar to the objectives of the Hontockian supremeists. Richard became angry with him and soon there were many arguments. Finally, Michael Cunningham left Billopec to join the Sharkcutter Union Corp in 1984. After seeing someone convert to supremeism, Richard was determined to stop it.

The Hontockain/Billopeshian rivalry continued as the war raged on. Eventually, Billopesha defeated the Hontock army in 1994 and the war finally reached an end. Lord Ogenarc of Hontock managed to escape. Richard was praised for his leadership during the war. Then, in 1997, Michael Cunningham returned to try to kill Richard and this led to a dual in the palace. The fight ended with Richard severing Cunningham’s left arm but Cunningham still escaped. Since his father’s death, Richard and his mother had been seeing each other occasionally but this sadly ceased in 1998 when his mother died. In 2004, Lord Ogenarc’s Hontockain partner, Vortigern Sinister, killed him before Richard could take out his revenge. But then, Vortigern Sinister was the Lord of Hontock and the next enemy for Richard to face.

War, Abdication and Retirement

In 2006, a small-scale war broke out between the Imperialist Enterprise and the Republican Federation. The Imperialists were demanded imperial rule with an empire being established while the Republicans argued for the justice of democracy. Being somewhat in-between the two sides, Richard didn’t support either side. He agreed more with the Republicans but supporting them would be going against his own monarchical roots. As he was always seen as a great leader, his monarchical powers had never been put to question. After 35 years in power, he decided to abdicate as monarch and let the constitutional monarchy dissolve. This allowed the Republican Federation to win the war and began a democratic regime in Billopesha. Richard remained as monarch for the next four months until a new president had been elected. At a public meeting with the new president, Aaron Thorne, Richard made a final speech where he said: "It is time to let democracy do it's job". He has now retired to a country villa with his wife, Linya Billopec, where he wishes to live out the rest of his days.
