The Riegaban Year, or as it is more often called the Etos Rigav (Greek: Έτος Ρηγάβ) is the national calendar used in Riegab. The Etos Rigav is based on taking the number of days in a year 356.25 and dividing it by 4 thus creating 4 seasons or "quarters". Each season starts on its corresponding equinox or solctice like usual but the year also starts on the first day winter December 21, and below are the dates of the start and the duration of the seasons in the order they fall in the year.

Winter:

Starts: Dec. 21
Lasts: 90 days

Spring:

Starts: Mar. 21
Lasts: 92 days

Summer:

Starts: Jun. 21
Lasts: 92 days

Autumn:

Starts: Sept. 21
Lasts: 91 days

There are 16 months in each year and each quarter is 4 months the number of each days in every month is generaly 23 but the last month in winter has only 21 days and the last month in Autumn has only 22. Now the nice part of this calendar is that each year has 365 days which is divisible by 5 therefore each week has only 5 days that way the calendar ends with 73 full weeks, therefore a calendar can be used year after year. Now to come to the problem of leap year and to keep the equal year only every 20 years are any days added, that way there will have been 20 years a fourth a day each year which adds us to 5 days making an equal week.
