The River Oblast is the smaller of the two rivers that flow through Beningrad. The river's source is at the base of the country's highest mountain, Snowspeak from where it flows south-west to Beningrad. Because it starts at such a low height the river is very gentle and is popular for activties such as fishing, and leisure boating. A daily boat service runs to and from Beningrad to Rothsbere, the highest part of the river that can be rached by boat and the gateway to The Southern Mountains. The river's name comes from the city of Beningrad which was historiccly know as Oblast. The river flows into the Southern River in the centre of Beningrad, it is then a further 5km before the Southern River flows into the sea.
