Roberto Psionis

Roberto Psionis is a high-ranking subordinate to the royalty of Niogoul-Maeromirpli

History

Roberto was born Roberto Flaxarra on the human world of Arkorron. He was a quiet, solitary boy. Roberto had little interest in social interaction; he considered the people around him to be nothing more than annoyances. With this attitude, and his short temper, people tended to avoid him as much as he avoided them.

Shortly after his sixteenth birthday, Roberto began to exhibit unusual psionic abilities, primarily telekinesis. Having always believed that he was destined for greatness, he saw this as proof that he was superior to all the people around him.

As his power grew, he began to use telekinesis to attack people who annoyed him. After one event, in which some students at his school had used him as the butt of a practical joke, his rage consumed him and he lashed out at all around him. He destroyed his school, and most of his town.

Resting in the remains of his house, and trying to exert control over the fury that still filled his mind, Roberto was approached by Atanracnad YlimNeicna, who knew of the awakening of Roberto's power from a prophecy.

Roberto's ever escalating psionic power made him a very valuable potential asset to Niogoul-Maeromirpli, and Atanracnad had come to persuade him to swear allegiance to the YlimNeicna, in return for help in mastering his power.

To avoid being noticed, Atanracnad had journeyed in a disguised form - a shapeshifting spell had made him appear human. The disguise was convincing enough to fool Roberto, who blasted Atanracnad with telekinetic power, dispelling the illusion. Having been made aware of Atanracnad's true form, Roberto also sensed his inherent power. He agreed to swear allegiance to the YlimNeicna, now seeing them as the route to his destiny.

Shortly after immigration into Niogoul-Maeromirpli, Roberto changed his surname to Psionis, due to lingering resentment against his parents.

True to their word, the YlimNeicna arranged for other psionics to train Roberto in telekinesis. Also provided were a luxurious mansion and servants to help ensure his loyalty.
